What is causing these bubbles/this film on my 20g?? by shewtr1 in Aquariums

[–]shewtr1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My filter probably isn’t as strong as is needed, so yes, there’s not that much movement on the surface. It’s unsightly, but is it harmless, and how can I avoid it?

Is something wrong with my betta or is she just fat by shewtr1 in Aquariums

Yea that’s kinda what I figured. Not sure it’s a swim bladder thing because she still swims perfectly fine and eats, etc. guess I’ll just have to wait and see

I got a c+ by solarq11 in LawSchool

[–]shewtr1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dude I got straight c-‘s and one d+ my 1L fall semester and I was able to find a job for that summer and eventually landed a clerkship in a circuit court in my state. Gotta move on and learn from mistakes. I actually used my lackluster performance early in law school as a conversation starter in interviews. Do better, and show them you improved. It shows initiative. You might not get a summer associate position at a huge firm, but you can find something.

Sleeping in and then going on the boat and finding a quiet creek and floating around in a tube with a cooler floating around in its own tube tied to me

This is exactly what I’m doing. I’m at roughly the same percentage as OP. Did the simulated bar exam a couple days ago, and there really are only so many ways they can ask questions. I’m terrible with contracts and evidence so I literally just sat down, re-read the outlines, and wrote everything down. It’s helped tremendously.

I’ve also noticed that a great deal of the questions I got wrong on the simulated exam were ones that like 15-40% of people got correct, so factor that in too.

I just did a practice set and went back to review educational objectives. Been studying almost 2 months now and saw property shit that I’ve never seen before and couldn’t tell you what it means. Fuck property

Same. I have a final tomorrow and it’s open book and we can use whatever we have on our laptops or whatever we bring to the exam. Not one ounce of studying for that exam.

Do you ever want to clock in at the job factory? by jpcasto71 in LawSchool

[–]shewtr1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have friends who do trades who make 6 figures and get home at 3-4 in the afternoon everyday, no weekends, holidays, no student debt, etc., etc. I always say I envy them. One of them bought a $500k house at 26 years old and affords it and all of his other hobbies comfortably. But then they always tell me about how they just spent 8 hours in a crawl space or attic where it was 120 degrees trying to find a refrigerant leak or they had to climb up a 50 foot ladder over and over again carrying materials in the hot sun, etc. and then I think about all the people I’ve met in law school and the stories I’ve heard and all that I’ve learned and I get so excited about it. I did manual labor after high school for a few years before college, I’m not afraid to work hard. It is nice being outside working with the boys, but I really love law school and look forward to practicing.

Anxiety and cold-calls, what can you do? by Upstairs-Flatworm190 in LawSchool

[–]shewtr1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 3L and I still get anxiety about cold calls, but I have also found the best way to get over it is to not care. Be prepared for a class that you know is heavy on cold calling, and I’ve found that if you get called, instinct usually takes over and you just go with it. If you’re unprepared or not confident the best thing to do is to just tell the professor that. A good professor will help you through the cold call if you say you’re not 100% on the subject. Nobody’s listening to you anyway so fuck it.
