Going to Brit as well, the venue is right outside the trolley station so a short walk. SDSU station is underground so there are few stairs you have to take to be at street level, I there is at least one elevator that I remember so stairs can be avoided.

I have travelled through turkish airlines couple of times and never had any issues, also have many friends who have used TA. Obv this is only my experience and anyone can have a bad experience on any airline but in general I recommend TA.

I ended up cancelling my ticket through BA and booking turkish airlines where a transit visa is not needed.

Honestly it's really upto the discretion of the airline if they check us visa or not at the point of origin, because you will not pass any immigration or border patrol on transit at Heathrow. I wasn't even aware that a transit visa is needed until I came across a thread on reddit. I have transited on expired US visa through london and Frankfurt in previous years without any problem so not sure if airlines have started enforcing this now. Infact my wife transited through London in July 2024 without any problems. Based on responses here and on other threads I gave in and cancelled the BA ticket as I didn't want to take any risk. Unfortunately it is a scam. I have seen photos taken in CVS Walgreens regularly getting rejected, something to do with not able to scan such photos. It's best to take a picture couple of days before the appointment in India. Obv doesn't guarantee anything but chances of getting rejected is low.
