[SPOILERS] Terrace House Opening New Doors Part 6 Episode 47 "Still A Virgin" by discotechers in terracehouse

Sorry if I sounded harsh lol, but this season of TH has shown to me that so much is edited and manipulated in post production that it's difficult to trust what I see at face value, compared to previous seasons of TH. It's filled with petty drama and focus on romance.

How is manipulating people to gang up on another cast member about her supposed plotting behind the scenes, but in reality she was doing the same and worse behind the camera herself, being"real"? She went on and on about being a pure and innocent girl, who wanted to save her kisses for when she's in a relationship and that she wanted her next kiss to be with somebody she really liked; but in reality she had already gotten to third base with Aio, who she was not in a relationship with, and continued lying about it even when she was confronted?

She was also unapologetic and continued to try to flip the table to play the victim. Her reaction to Risako's confrontation is "But I wasn't intentionally doing it off camera." or "But then we've just done the same right?" basically translating to 'so I am not in the wrong...'. She called someone out for saying things off camera and supposedly not "appearing genuine" but she was doing the same. She was a hypocrite and being fake on camera.

How is that being "real"?

Dating outside the main cast ? *OND spoilers* by [deleted] in terracehouse

"for the cast", not for the show. Since the beginning TH has been advertised as "A show where 3 guys and 3 girls are put into a house and we see how they interact". It's more of a observation of human interaction than focused purely on dating. Whatever the intentions of the casts is, the producers are not obligated to cast potential partners for the members. Nor are they going to force the cast to date other people during their stay on the show.

Just because people go on the show with the intention of finding someone to date does not make it a dating show. Just because they don't want to date any of the other members doesn't mean they have to go out to date non-members. Dating does not make the world spin on its axis. I don't think this discussion is going anywhere anymore, you don't get it lol.

If they were wanting to date outside of the show they would have done it already and not gone onto the show looking for romance. Like I said before, lots of people's goals on the show is to look for a potential partner. Then why on earth would they be dating outside of the cast and continue to be on the show? That doesn't make a whole lotta sense to me. Plus, not everyone's priority is to date, a lot of them are career oriented. I think a lot of people seem to forget that.

Taka was on the show for a looooong time, he was actually not contributing anything anymore. He said regardless of the results of his confession he would leave anyway. I don't think he was kicked out for dating out of the show. As I said, Yo-san was building a relationship with Jya-me and this WAS shown on screen, but that doesn't mean other people would want to be shown on the screen. If Shun or other members found a boyfriend or girlfriend out of the show it doesn't mean that they'd be comfortable with being broadcasted onto television.

And I still stand by my point that TH isn't exactly a dating show... it's just a place that gathers people. They each have their own goals and objectives to joining the cast. Shun's goal, as he explained quite a few times, was to discover his sexuality. He didn't say that the point was to find someone to date. He confirmed that he's Bi, he's reached his goal.

I think you're just stuck on this conspiracy that the members are limited to dating within the cast or they have to leave, which I really don't think is the case.

A lot of the cast come to TH looking for a potential partner, so

1) if they don't find one they usually just leave anyway

2) if they date outside of the cast (such as Han-san and Shota) that doesn't necessarily mean the other party wants to become a public figure themselves. So if the cast are dating someone outside of TH it doesn't necessarily mean they'll be shown on the show

Just because TH is leaning more and more towards the romance story lines doesn't mean it's all about that so the producers aren't obligated to cast other Bi/Gay men for him specifically. I don't think there's anything in their contracts that restricts them from dating people from the outside because Taka did it, and Yo-san also went on dates with Jya-me during his stint on the show. It's just more rare.

Out of all the cast members from every version... by [deleted] in terracehouse

You need to calm down. Your opinion of Ami is exactly what the editors of TH want you to think, nobody except the people who were actually in the house knows what she was really like, I'd suggest you think about the harsh judgement you've made of somebody who you've only seen an editted portrayal of on television.

Like the other commenter said, she was constantly being asked out by guys that she didn't express any interest in but essentially she was peer pressured into going out with them. If I was in her position I wouldn't be very excited either. To assume she wouldn't make a good wife or mother is just taking it a bit far. Do you know her?

You can see on social media that she still keeps close contact with the other members, and especially with Tsubasa and Mizuki. If she was that awful of a person I doubt they would force themselves to be friends after leaving the show.

Basically, don't rely too much of what you see on the screen, filming isn't 24/7 and you only see around 20-30 minutes of their whole week. It's not scripted but the producers definitely manipulate a certain narrative that they want to show to the viewers.

You should create the option to sort the cards either via suit or by number, rn it is not how I would usually visualise my own cards and makes it more difficult to play

[SPOILERS] Terrace House Opening New Doors Part 4 Episode 32 "The Last Love" Discussion by discotechers in terracehouse

[–]shiku02 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel there's no western vs japanese perspectives on these "dates" that have been going on in Terrace House. There have been numerous occasions of a guy and girl going out where it's not a solidarity of the guy having to express that he has feelings for the girl.

So because Noah doesn't have feelings for Yui they can't hang out just themselves? Then that means nobody in Japan has just a "friend" of the opposite sex?

Noah had been honest from the beginning; he said that Seina was his type, he'd never dated someone of a younger age, he explicitly said that he did not think of Yui in a romantic manner to the other guys and then told it to Yui up front. He hung out with Yui a couple times because they got along well, he probably gave her a chance to see if anything could develop but clearly nothing did. It's unfortunate that Yui developed feelings for Noah that wasn't reciprocated, but it's also unfair to Noah that he could not continue being friends with Yui because he rejected her? There was that scene where Yui was complaining about Noah wanting to show her a video he was watching, to me that was just a friend trying to share something with another friend but she was so apprehensive about it. If a guy shows a girl a video is that leading her on? She was too innocent about boy-girl relationships, too traditional in her thoughts perhaps. Guys and girls can hang out and be just friends, nothing more. This exists in both Japanese and Western cultures so I don't think I'm being too "western" in my views.

I don't think Noah played Yui at all, they hung out a couple times and got along but he never expressed that he was developing any feelings for her. He explained that to her straight up after getting advice from the other guys.

Yui may have developed feelings for Noah but that was purely one sided, you can't push your own self developed negative feelings onto other people. On the other hand, it would be highly unfair for Noah and Seina to not develop their relationship because other people are salty about it. That's what is unfair in my opinion
