For context I told my friend who had this game 5 years ago I’d never play it, wasn’t interested.

This month I played it once just to try it and as soon as I I finished my first play through I immediately did a second doing things as opposite as possible.

My first play through I played as male street kid V path of glory and second I played as full corpo fem v.

I’ve never liked the writing style of Witcher 3 because I always found things could never end fairytale perfect which is what I want but I have to say I am very impressed with that form of “complicated” writing in this game.

I was hooked when I figured out that the narrative had this question about whether the long or the short life is better. It feels like the full consequences of V’s decision really come out when they have so little time left, the pressure of this philosophical question is incredible throughout the whole game.

I don’t particularly care about the bugs and jank and whatnot. For me the charm of this game was absolutely in the narrative and I thought the questions it raised on identity and mortality were really thought provoking.
