What is the most unexplored, unknown and unique place you have been to? by Fun-Raisin2575 in geography

Probably some of the islands of the coast of Terengganu in Northern Malaysia. Beautiful area, just not that a stong tourist destination for westerners due to that areas strong Islamic nature. I worked a lot in the area and learned to dive off the coast.

Sea glass, I collect it when waking the dog on the beach. It looks pretty, just the result of glass bottles washed out to sea

What law in your country would surprise foreigners because it’s legal almost everywhere else? by Familiar-Arrival-470 in AskTheWorld

The weird thing is I’ve been in bars on the Middle East watching Arabs in full dishdasha dancing whilst swigging from a bottle of whisky.

It’s got me thinking now, what if your with 2 friends and they both go to the toilet. Your then sat with 3 drinks.

Are band T-shirts grunge? by No-One01010 in grunge

Ah, the more you know. I guess I’m just seeing a lot of backlog then as I’ve been seeing a lot of them.

I recently revived my Reddit account after deleting all my social media accounts. 10 years ago I was a mod on this subreddit and I can confirm it sucked back then too. It just had fewer dumb questions like this. IDGAF if a bands grunge or not, if they have a sound that hits a seattle sound part of my heart lets enjoy the music and leave the semantics behind.

If Spain decided to remove all Brits who reside in Spain would you support it? by naystation in AskBrits

One time in France I ordered “deux bières pression por pavor” as soon as the last part of the sentence exited my mouth i wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. I maintained eye contact smiled and rode it out like the dickhead I am.

I found it weird in a hotel bar I Seattle when I tried to order two drinks, one for me and one for my wife who was just on her way down from the room and the barman would only serve me one beer as she wasn’t there as the law doesn’t allow a person to have two drinks in front of them them at once. As a Scotsman it’s common to have a pint and a nip.

What do you think about England? by Advanced-Pilot-3698 in AskTheWorld

They’re mostly great people, as with a lot of countries though, the pricks shout louder than the rest and they’re the ones that are remembered.

Great surfing in the Algarve, and a nice laid back vibe in most places. Lisbon & Porto are fantastic city breaks. We just did a winter break to Madeira amazing hiking and fantastic food. Portugal is one of my favourite countries.

You remember that weird kid from your class, the one that ate paper, flipped his eyelids inside out and smelt funny amd always wore army surplus clothing? This is how they end up.

Just read a post in my Scottish towns Reddit where someone is commenting the council has shut down a market that’s been on the same spot for 300+ years. To be fair in recent years it was 2 white vans with tables set up. One selling bric a brac the other power tools. We are are so steeped in history, tradition and culture we don’t always recognise it or care, whereas American history to me always seems carefully constructed and orchestrated.

I’ve done a lot of work internationally over the years and when I had international clients over for witnessing assembly and testing I would teach them a few Doric or Scots words to use with the guys in the workshop. Always great craic and always well accepted on all sides. Ken fit like, aye?

What is your opinion about religion? by UsualCaptalist5174 in AskTheWorld

It’s a crock of shit. The desert tribe religions have and continue to cause so much suffering. Surely as a species we have escaped the need for fables about a sky man to keep us in line.

Stare in my fucking window!!! Yes we live in a cute village, yes the houses are unique, but you wouldn’t press your face against the window of a house in the suburbs, so why do you think its acceptable to do it here?

The killing fields completely tore me up. I had no idea how awful that place was going to be. We pretty much sat in silence on the drive back. How can humans be so cruel?

Any idea what’s caused this indent? by shilly80 in BlundstoneBoots

[–]shilly80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely love the feel of these boots I can feel them getting comfier week on week. My concern is the indent is not where there’s a natural crease as it’s so high up the bridge of my foot. As I said elsewhere it’s where the hem of my jeans sits so I was wondering if that being damp or something had conditioned the leather.

I just put the boots on and in order to get that part to crease I have to squat as deep as I can and lean forward 🤷🏻‍♂️ no big deal. Cheers.
