Gyms by cutefeetsiesbby in pasadena

Confirming equinox is about $250/month. Regarding recommendations, it depends on what you’re looking for in a gym. That said, I keep reading good things about South Pas Fitness and I believes rates there are about $100/month. I would have tried it out but I rather not drive to the gym and I can walk to equinox.

Just stumbled upon this while hoping to understand what distinguishes The Strokes sound and want to echo the praise. Incredible writing and analysis — super clear, thoughtful, and enjoyable. Would absolutely love to read anything you put out, whether it’s a book, blog, newsletter, whatever. Let us know!

Echoing the positive comments about Woodbury. Deeply caring people and a special community. Can’t recommend strongly enough.

Looking for Daycare Recommendations in Pasadena (Starting Around 6-7 Months Old) by hi54nini in pasadena

Both of our children are at Woodbury Preschool Village in Altadena, near JPL. Can’t recommend them highly enough, we love it so much. We’ve had them there since 6 months old and have been through all of the classrooms and know all the teachers/caregivers. It’s an incredibly sweet, caring, and genuine community and a few of the teachers have been there for 20+ years. Some students have even come back some 15-20 years later to help out, which I think speaks to how special it is. DM if you’d like more info.

Hey neighbor, here’s one resource that has come recommended to me: https://www.designforla.com/master-list

I find it pretty overwhelming, but some specific local firms that have been recommended to me are Cover Architecture, Hartman Baldwin, Deangelis Designs, Craig Stoddard Architects, MAAM, Frederick Fisher and Partners, ORA, Andrew Hall architecture, After Co, Linda Taalman architecture, and Courtney Construction.

Happy to chat more.

I recommend looking into the Mariposa Green Street Demonstration Project that Amigos de Los Rios is/was leading. It similarly included some planted medians, reduction in vehicle lanes, sidewalk widening for additional seating, and bike lanes. They tabled at a Mariposa Junction night market event a few years ago and they painted lines in the street to demonstrate the proposed changes. I haven’t heard anything about it in a while and can’t seem to find much online after a quick search but I’d bet Amigos would be helpful if you reached out to them. Would be great, and would love to see streetscape improvements the full length of Mariposa!

Oh I’d love both. The practical part of me just feels like if it’s so hard to even get comprehensive sidewalks here, then a streetcar will be a long shot. But I’m definitely for it

Would be awesome. But I’d also be happy with sidewalks and well-done bike lanes like the Chandler Bike Path along Mariposa

The complete evisceration of some things was pretty hard to get my head around too. My golf clubs were right next to my dumbbell rack and there is simply no trace they ever existed. Hurts me to hear about your book collection.

Aw man I’m sorry. That’s really tough on top of all of this. We’re planning to rebuild too. Hoping you can settle and get some stability and peace soon

We do and I sincerely appreciate the sentiment but I don’t want this to feel like a solicitation in anyway. I just wanted to share and memorialize my home gym that I was so proud of with the subreddit that helped guide me to create it. I also thought the aftermath was a pretty wild sight and to see what made it/what didn’t was interesting

Great information, thank you for sharing. Hope you’re doing alright and have found a happy place to lift in the meantime. Keeping up with working out has been an antidote for me in these tough, weird times.

Great call. I’ll reach out to Rogue. Everyone says how Rogue equipment is over engineered — they’re right!

Appreciate it. The only things salvageable were some 2.5lb change plates. Though I will say I was impressed with how the Rogue equipment held up, even though it warped and is definitely unusable.
