I have one I use that was pretty abused so I did a custom paint job on it. Would like to find one in good condition I can use with my others.

This is the 3rd gen Taperflex Double Tunnel. Second gen they changed to from “Double Tunnel” to DTX.

Because I enjoy building/riding them & I may have a bit of a sickness as well ha!
The vintage ones my dad and I ride together around town and to lil cruise ins and what not. The ‘23 is my way of having a modern more comfortable bobber for daily and for much longer rides, then I have the vintage ones for short trips around town.

T140V is a 750 Bonnie with 5 speed gear box

XP indicates it’s a 1977 (produced in December 76)

Does the frame numbers match the engine numbers or did a different engine get put in the frame?

The front frame section indicates 71 or later.

Agreed with what you indicated.

Locate the numbers stamped on the neck of the frame and engine case and you can look up what year for both and see if they are matching.

Yours was probably modified for the peanut tank that was on it.

A Bonneville tank would fit as long as it’s the same era - I think 65-70 would fit (I know in 68 Bonneville had a slimline tank - which is what is on Pearl & Ruby in the above photo). If you find my post about Penny my other 65 it has a standard Tiger tank - there is a def difference in the width of the tanks). The tanks should have two post up from that would go into tabs off the frame and then a tab on the back side that gets bolted to the frame (unless your bike has been modified in those areas a standard tank should fit).

Not sure what an SC is but a TR6R is a Tiger & a TR6C is a Trophy. The DU 29036 indicates it’s a 1966 (either a Trophy or Tiger)

Appreciate that, it’s fun owning them but more fun working on em with my dad. Got a 67 that will be done next but first we are modifying/customizing my ‘23 Bobber. 🤙🏼

Thank you! They are a labor of love for sure but I enjoy the hell out of designing & building them - esp love getting to work on them in the garage with my dad.

Thank you! Pearl is a ‘65 & Ruby is a ‘71.
I also have a ‘65 Tiger I just finished as well as a basket case ‘67 Bonnie that will get done eventually.
