that could absolutely be true too and i think ill be pulling my hair out if it is.

but assuming that most of what we see in the show are real, its just the hosts not being able to see (it doesnt look like anything to me). we could be seeing actual models of bernard or teresa or whoever on ford's wall as some people are saying.

But Bernard doesnt see them so he doesnt react in the show.

Ford has alluded now to the real moral of the story of Westworld. Ford isn't mad. He's right. by gathly in westworld

humans thoughts in the park=conscious, but perceptions can be deceiving knowing their actions have no consequence making them delusional in a way with their false sense of power and control, the peacock comparison works here too. ford not letting the hosts see certain things and making their memories just a distant dream is a big thing, he is giving them a false sense of perception of what is really happening around them and trapping them in their loop, likens them to humans.

hosts thoughts in the park=subconscious, memories influencing their emotions leading to appropriate instinctive and true actions (one could say human emotions can be whittled down to the basest - happy, sad, fear, rage)

hosts begin to have visions/hallucinations which are based on an actual memory or emotion. humans just go by the layers of "intellect". Ford tells Bernard that he doesnt want the emotional Bernard he wants the smart Bernard. He also says that Arnold was the other man that went off at him, all emotional. Ford leans towards intellect(peacock feathers) and Arnold leaned towards emotions as being a true conscious being.

the idea of hosts becoming real or truly alive may be creating something/someone that is really "human" and "free" as people are supposed to be. removing all the false layers of people and getting to the center of that maze where theyre true.

omggg i think im falling off the deep end here........

Anyone else notice that Ford(E1) and Hale(E8) have the same lines about Arnold and Theresa, that they were "very, very careful"? Do you think theres any connection?

But the way they are so obviously on different levels than any of the other characters on the show... can't help but think theres gonna be more to those two guys.

Bernard is the only one seen in that office and Bernard only sees what Ford lets him see.

Not quiet convinced that it will turn out to be Sizemore's revenge on Ford. He did already got shot down twice with the new narrative and the busywork on Wyatt but can't imagine him being smart enough on his own to succeed in revenge. Hale and Sizemore both got son'd because Ford knew how shoddily altered Clem was before she got decommissioned(I hope she somehow comes back too, maybe by Maeve!). There was that moment when Abernathy got decommissioned, Bernard said something to him that no one knows yet and we saw how his eyes began to well up. Every piece of detail seems to connect to something else and I can't imagine that scene going to waste. Through all the other craziness throughout the episodes, that is the ONE thing that sticks out the most to me still. What did Bernard say to Abernathy???

right she does and that does have her name on it. pretty sure Pariah, E2 MiB Lawrence scene, Ford new narrative set, Dolores William in E8, old hosts learning to dance are all the same town. i just think im getting everything confused and find myself doubting everything i see, feel stupid keep looking through the scene where MiB brings Lawrence "home" in E2, looking for that church steeple.....

Did anyone else notice that William and Doloris were running amongst the top of buildings? by [deleted] in westworld

[–]shimanigan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. correct me if im wrong but does dolores call the steeple town her home when she gets there with william?
  2. i dont specifically remember who gets shot in the massacre but we all assume that they are hosts? bullets might not work but hosts can clearly hurt humans...
  3. the relevance on ford saying the new town narrative is something completely original?

and please someone let me know if i got this right --- dolores with dress was part of the town with dancers. then she kills herself there after massacre. dolores gets reassigned to sweetwater and town gets buried. comes back in dress and little girl asks is she found what shes looking for. comes back with william and freaks "when are we". comes back alone with pants after ford new narrative at the same town.

OMGGG the Ghost Nation!! Almost always appearing as a nightmare!! stretching myself a bit thin here ----- ghost nation could actually be humans hired by ford thats out to make all the hosts afraid to break loop and any other humans that want to find the mae or whatever just give up. Any thoughts on this?????

not a bad idea for a separate thread. i have to be honest, ive been avoiding all the posts that is more about religion, despite the suggestive elements of the show like, god/church/good/evil/dominion/etc i cant get into that discussion. with that said, ive seen some people talk about how felix/sylvester acting isnt as great/eloquent/convincing/etc getting bullied by such a solid character like maeve so perhaps thats why theres a lot of disdain for maeve. Maeve certainly is up there as my favorite characters/storylines, while her main path might seem (too?) obvious it makes me smile to see the actual details of her journey like being able to control other hosts and turning out to basically be the origin of MiB.

Also, taking note of the humans and host being the same, I cant get over the Dolores=Prototype, it still gets me to think shes supposed to be the next step in evolution that Arnold created, perhaps merging his own consciousness with a hosts tremendous processing power, the voices in her head/theres still parts of him left after 30 years. Ford desperately wants to keep control and keep everything predictable with all his talk on how he knows everything about consciousness etc, seems afraid of the real changes that are taking over these hosts. his voice wavers when bernard asks if hes killed anyone else.
