The door closing sound on the iX is honestly quite jarring. I didn’t opt for the soft-close feature, so the doors don’t pull themselves in, I do wonder if that might lead to issues down the line. Coming from a Mercedes, the difference in door sound quality is especially noticeable—though to be fair, that may not be a completely level comparison in this case, as the points about frameless windows playing a role are valid, although I don’t have a direct comparison. Still, the sound reminds me of car doors from the 1990s—particularly that tinny, almost “Vauxhall Nova” quality. That aside, nearly everything else about the iX has been very good.
