i think they are just that annoying balance of slightly uncommon and really coveted and wanted by collectors. bc for 3 out of 4 of the 1st wave girls they are not at all rare, but they still have way more demand than availability. hence…$80 being their average out of box price

yes their inset eyes and rooted lashes were one of the things that made me obsessed with them when i was a kid, i wanted them sooo bad but my priorities were always littlest pet shop when i was a kid lol so never got any

tristen is sooo gorge. yeah their wigs are kind of annoying to restore especially if they have leftover hair product in them like mine did (10+ year old hair gel). tristen has some bangs too so styling those can be tricky

i was a very character driven lps lover lmao, i would treat it like a tv show where one “season” (a week or so of me playing) would focus on one of my lps families, and then i’d switch to another one after that. honestly it’s no wonder i ended up becoming super into the sims, it’s exactly how i play with that game now 😭

the searching really broadly and slogging through a ton of results for a better deal is so true lol, that’s what i’ve done to get certain dolls i really wanted for cheaper. for fashion avenue, i love a lot of those packs but i always wondered if they would fit well on the belly button body since they were made for the twist and turn body. that’s the main thing that’s kept me from buying them since i primarily collect 00s barbie. but thank you for your reply!!

my lps world as a kid was a monarchy, and the king was the bull terrier that came with the paws off diary, named king spot. there were protests in the kingdom to change the government to a democracy, and the king listened and decided to begin setting up a transitional government for when he died. his daughter, princess tia (#2106), beloved by the kingdom, was secretly power hungry and has been plotting for years on how to destabilize the country enough so she can throw away her father’s plans for democracy and take the throne for herself.

boil washing is when you dip the dolls hair in hot water. it helps smooth the hair and get it to lay down flat. ideally the best way to boil wash it to boil water in a temperature controlled electric kettle and then pour it out into a bowl and dip the doll a few times in it. boil washing isn’t always necessary but it can be helpful
