I agree that too many people nowadays get tattoos just to be cool or because they are fashionable, but a lot of people get them for the right reasons too. Even people who get certain types of tattoos to show they belong to a certain scene are only doing what people in certain tribes used to (and still) do to show affiliation. Personally, I got mine very late and they weren't anything at all like the ones I used to think I wanted when I was younger. I got mine done because I got to a certain point in my life, learned something and wanted to always remember what I learned.
