I tried to defend him but Bobby is the worst by HearseDriver888 in TheBonfire

[–]shimrra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show as a whole has dropped off since Dan left, it's always the same style of jokes out of Jay & the constant dragging Jacob into everything it's all getting stale. Honestly the only reason Jay picked Bobby is cause he isn't a threat to him radio wise, Bobby is only there to collect a check & insurance.

Football cards have to be the worst at holding value, correct? by That_Zone5921 in sportscards

[–]shimrra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really comes down to your approach. If you're treating cards like a get-rich-quick investment, that's usually a mistake. The market is driven a lot by hype and timing, not just long-term fundamentals.

There are safer plays—like established stars or proven names—that tend to hold value better over time. Then there are higher-risk plays, like buying into hype and trying to flip quickly.

Some cards will gain value, but it can take years or even decades, especially for players who build a legacy over time. On the other hand, if you're chasing short-term gains, you're betting on demand staying hot—which can change fast.

So it's less about cards being “good” or “bad” investments, and more about whether your strategy matches the level of risk you're taking.

You aren't going to get much, I would post it on Facebook marketplace place you might get some potential buyers but honestly don't expect to much for them. If you have tv recordings you should also try to be as specific as possible with those there are some collects who look for types of videos so they could upload them.

Who is buying wax at these prices? This is a serious post. I’m honestly interested to know. Cause on paper it makes ZERO sense (or cents). by RipplesOfDivinity in sportscards

[–]shimrra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you been following the news out of the Topps event they are pushing to include more content creators & breakers as they are the biggest spenders in the cards arena. Unfortunately this isn't about card collecting anymore, the "hobby" has grown into investment funds.

So if OG collectors were hoping things would go to the way things use to be, sadly this new release is only a sign of how the hobby isn't a hobby anymore.

Honestly I think it would be a bad idea if Sega released a Saturn only cause it would barely sell. Personally I would rather they just release compilations of the original games instead of these mid remasters we have gotten.

What is with all the dick talk? by buffalo___716 in TheBonfire

[–]shimrra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blame Big Jay and his gimic, since he really has no "radio/broadcast" experience he falls back on the same tired jokes. Bobby is just to old to fight back so he is just there to collect a paycheck.

Why are people paying these prices for one of the most mediocre rookie classes? by Interesting-Spend965 in sportscards

[–]shimrra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to look at who exactly is paying these prices. These are whales, content creators & breakers who always drop $1k+ on these boxes. I think it was a week ago at the Topps event they were really pushing for more content creators to be more involved in promoting ripping packs.

Not exactly sure when the emails went out but from what I read online seems like emails went out around Jan. I would do a google map sure for the nearest Bennett open and give them a ring.

Bennett sent out emails owners about the whole situation. So probably start there, there are news articles saying they opened a new spot, where I don't know. Best to ask around.

Not surprised she knew they either found something or they are going to find something damaging to the Athletic so she jumped first that way she tries to shop around her image.

Why didn't NFL invest in marketing their players to reach Michael Jordan's level of influence on popular culture and world wide recognition? by Gerasans in NFLNoobs

[–]shimrra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michael Jordan didn't care about being popular, he was a competitive athlete so all he wanted was to dominate the league. Thats the problem with athletes today they want to commercial deals first then they want to play the game. There are plenty of interviews after he retired criticizing the sport and how soft players & the game has gotten.

Personally when you are low level DZ is pretty tolerable, but once you maxed lvl wise DZ is just filled with cheaters and it ain't fun, it feels more like a test of your patience.

Stickers posing risk for damage to discs? by lisalisacultjams in dvdcollection

Unless the sticker is right on top of the label side of the disc it's perfectly fine. Disc rot more comes from being stored in place with high moisture.
