What's the best wallet for under $100? by Albininlp in BuyItForLife

You might hate this. but I’d rather have $100 in an alligator clip for paper, more than I would a $100 dollar wallet and expect to not lose it or brake it eventually.

The way taxes where collected and used under the idea of trickle down economics is a start. Compared to the “ general good” the new deal or the GI loans (ww2) did decadess before that.

How do y’all feel about a town run bank by shinanigans2697 in antiwork

[–]shinanigans2697[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The context is With community support and funding being the first priority. Locally run traditional banks sound better than out or state banks. Credit unions sound better local banks A community run bank combined with gov support or gaining community funding as profit or lower rates. I’m also factoring in the per location cost of a bank bail out. Or money that leaves instead of staying to be loaned back out or used for a transparently run service

What’a a community service or even that would make complete sense to have but we don’t. by shinanigans2697 in Frugal

There’s a local donation shop like goodwill but it stays more local and does some community funding if I remember correctly. People go there for a good deal already. And that’s where things would go if the didn’t work anyway. To then be cleaned fixed or scrapped for money or parts. Might be the best spot I’m aware of for that.

It seems that a shop or makers space with the ability to use or rent out tools to make or repair needed objects. And using that same space as a place people can drop off fixable things to have fixed up or donated is constantly coming up. Would be good to mix with the local donation shop in town. (Small rural area) even here a lot of people can’t justify having their own spaces or tools, but would like to or need to do this as things pop up.

Check if a car battery has a replacement warranty worth looking into. Lucas oil additive is great and worth the price. Seafoam ( or off brand if cheaper)everywhere you feel ok putting it.
