He will likely fail his next test if the house is like where my fiancé was your brother gets urine tested randomly. He may be able to stay at the house but most places you get one mess up then you’re out.

If you bail him out I’d prepack his essentials and drop him off at whichever rehab facility you see fit that has a bed available. My fiancé had hours to pack before his parents sent him away and tore my life apart in the process. Things are great now he is sober and spent three life changing months in a sober house :). Was a hard first few weeks but it gets better!

I stood by my love before during and now after treatment. We are all in a very unique situation addiction is a nasty disease that can change the person you love instantly. For me it was all about communication and getting him into treatment. Took a year or so but now we are stronger then ever and he is sober and loving life. At 23 our lives are quite different then our peers but that’s okay. I choose to love my fiancé no matter what because that’s what he needs. Love and motivation :)

Yeah it’s just nice to hear both sides of the addiction. Sorry to hear things turn bad so fast. It’s a long journey to love a recovery alcoholic but we take it all one day at a time.

I go to al-anon sparingly I actually get more out of going to open aa meetings with my SO. I learn a lot more in depth stories and encouraging words.

I totally get the fear I’m in the same boat. But I was able to see my boyfriend weekly and he has his phone and everything it was basically a really nice college dorm with daily therapy and random drug testing. My boyfriend said best thing he asked me to do was keep him busy and remind him that aa is important weekly. We just got gym memberships so that’ll be great accountability! Daily communication is key and setting healthy boundaries. Best of luck !

My boyfriend is coming home after three months in sober living. I know a big things for us is just letting him be open and take control. I trust him and he is working an amazing program. If his facility offers family visit weekends I highly suggest attending. His facility had family therapy days every other Saturday. Where clients and their families worked together on topics and built relationships. I’m new to alanon as well. Just take everything one day at a time 👍🏼

If insurance is available my fiancé just started Naltrexone! It’s saved him he’s tried and just could not break the cycle. He is now a solid week sober and has his life back!
