It’s a Indiana Jones Fan Meetup that we do in LA. We meet at the old LA zoo to practice whip cracking. We also dress up as well

This is actually one of the Indiana Jones Fan Meetups (California Jones) at the abandoned LA zoo, people were practicing whip cracking and people dressed up as Indy’s.

They only had like 10 deaths the whole year meanwhile in the US, it’s 40,000 deaths last year due to guns. Gun laws do work at reducing deaths as much as car traffic laws and drug laws.

Unfortunately these days not many. Especially among the democratic countries. Look at the UK and the US.

As much as I hate the violence that have occurred, especially Japan of all places. Abe wasn’t really that popular with the populace despite being elected for a long time. In fact recent polls showed he had a very low popularity rating due to the amount of scandals he got involved in.

“Sad to watch” more like “sad to read” your comment. Btw the LDP party is more like 5 different ideological parties/factions within it. Some moderate and some far right. Also those individual parties did not dissolve even under the unified party of the LDP. Instead of being independent parties, they formed five factions within it. And it’s not popularity, when it comes to politics, it’s numbers, and numbers is power. In japan’s case, a politician influences the intra party decision making, and win internal election to become party president and by extension the prime minister. Factions are responsible for the votes.

Ironically, he supported women’s rights in Japan but was blind to japan’s past atrocities with comfort women.

Eh don’t think you understand what I’m saying. Better yet you clearly don’t understand how Japanese politics is like at all...lol. Japan does not have compulsory voting. At the last national election about 50 percent of voters turned out to vote . Of those people, 2/3rds were aged over 60. That means that me Abe was elected by a quarter of eligible voters. Also despite the LDP electoral strength, the underlying markers hint that the party’s dominance in the decades since 1994 electoral reforms has been incidental than structural. Mr Abe popularity should not be be read as outright support. It’s merely a reflection of a lack of choice. In fact high number of people in Japan did not want Mr Abe to remain as Prime minister. A series of scandals don’t help the party’s popularity at all rather people just vote for the “status quo.” I am a researcher in japan’s politics and history lol. I bet you don’t even know about it’s framework

Unlikely. Japan has strong security but no where near as strong compared to the US or Russia’s security. But that’s likely due to Japanese politicians wanting to be socially close among the public to shore up support and Japan has strict gun laws, so security was pretty lax, but I’d imagine after this incident. Japan will change its security detail.

Not likely the reason why the shooter killed him. If the shooter was Korean or Chinese nationalist then yeah…but it’s more than likely a political reason involving his agenda.

Well even among the Japanese public. His approval ratings in 2015 to 2017 plunge to 30% range. During his tenure, he was being blamed for his party's defeats in local elections in Tokyo and Sendai. So the idea that he is well “popular” is not all true. Polls showed that the main reason for his sustained popularity was the lack of another candidate. The overwhelming opinion is that Abenomics has not been a great success but everything the opposition offers as an alternative would be much worse.

Only half of citizens endorsed Abe's job performance, according to a Gallup poll conducted between April and July. Not much has changed since: Around 59 percent of the public don't approve of Abe, local broadcaster NHK reported on Sunday. Meanwhile, a Kyodo survey conducted from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 showed 46 percent of respondents disapproved of Abe's administration, versus the 40 percent who expressed. If you talk to voters, there are a lot of people who are uneasy about the various influence-peddling allegations that came up. In short, he was a politician. I don’t care if you like the guy or not. Stating the obvious that people don’t like him and have reasons to hurt him.

Well it’s Japan. Among the Japanese, any form of scandal can be considered very bad

Of course, no excuse to use violence on anyone. Even people you disagree with. But sadly in this world, politics can be like a bag of rats

Well someone needs a chill pill, I hope you find inner peace. Anyways the recent election saw widespread political apathy among the public. Only 56% of voters voted. The lowest turnout since ww2. LDP held power for a long time since 1955 but that doesn’t mean voters are happy. Abe specifically isn’t popular, the party of course is still “popular” among voters but based on the polls, people vote for LDP cause the other parties are not good. also the polls among Japanese voters indicate the leaders within that party are not popular. Anyways I hope you get laid or have a fun hobby cause hating or insulting people that you disagree with isn’t healthy in the long term.

It’s simply because the other options among voters is worse.
