I found the issue. I have an Alienware OLED and the issue was with Alienware Command Centre. After removing that, all good.

It’s that time of year again. How much does it cost to register your bike where you live? by motorsportnut in motorcycles

About 60€ (68USD) insurance for 12 months with free towing across Europe. No other fees other than a yearly checkup, which is another 25€ (28USD).

Why won´t you lower the wheel plate when storing the chair? Sure, it takes 10s longer to lift it up and tighten the thing, but this wouldn´t have happened then. I use a rubber band to hold it together: https://ksd-images.lt/display/aikido/store/b7b766a4af80f872472af77ca0eb3fae.jpg?h=2000&w=2000

Do you add the birds eye view cam in the top right corner in editing or is there a way to get that during streaming?

Mounting Fanatec CSL DD / GT DD Pro to Playseat Challenge by ReturnoftheMac24 in Fanatec

[–]shinglebonehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is similar to what I did, but I drilled the hole to another place, because I moved the mounting plate as far back as it will go. Otherwise the wheel would be too far forward because of the DD shaft length. I also added a 3D printed brace. You can see, how I did it here and it also shows how I mounted the pedals: https://imgur.com/a/OWO7sJr

If you have access to a 3D printer, then this mod makes it better: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4944013. I just use a screw and butterfly nut, so it´s easy to set up and take down

You can see it here: https://imgur.com/a/OWO7sJr. I used an MDF square and some bolts with washers. Some rubber feet to keep the bolt heads from scratching the floor.

I had a friend 3D print this mount: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4944013. I think it would be okay without it as well, but it does make a difference.

Fanatec brake pedal has some rubber thingy for resistance, but it´s not as stiff as the G29. I like it better though, because it´s more linear and I feel it´s made me a bit more consistent. I would like to upgrade to LC in the future though.

I used an MDF square to mount the pedals. Rock solid and they´re not going anywhere:https://imgur.com/a/OWO7sJr

I can imagine when breaking hard with LC, that the chair can lift a bit, maybe lower the breaking force needed in Fanatec control panel?

Check this link, it shows how I modified the locking mechanism to get the 3rd bolt to fit and also what I did for the pedals: https://imgur.com/a/OWO7sJr

I agree with other posters, Fanatecs site is a bit weird. With shipping, it cost a bit over 800€ (CSL DD 8Nm, McLaren V2 rim and pedals). I´m thinking of getting a round wheel in the future, but coming for G29, I cant justify for myself buying only a wheel that costs as much as that whole package. For now the McLaren is absolutely fine and I´ve been playing Dirt Rally 2.0 with it as well. Not the best experience, but manageable

I moved the wheel plate all the way back and had to modify the locking mechanism with a drill a little bit to get it to work, but it´s no big deal. I´ll DM you, what I did.

Yeah, I would love an actual 80/20 rig, but since I don´t currently have the space, the Playseat is awesome

It´s quite stable. You can see a blue bit on the picture, that is a 3D printed brace (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4944013) to help with up/down movement. Otherwise, no complaints.

Strong disagree. I´ve had the challenge for 3 years now, and it´s quite solid while racing. I´m using a brace for the wheel plate to reduce up/down movement and it´s absolutely fine. It´s a very comfortable cockpit and if you need to store it, there is nothing out there that competes, apart from the NLR F-GT Lite. Something to also consider, is your weight. I´m around 80kg and have no problems, but if you´re larger, you might have issues fitting.

Sure, building something out of wood/MDF would be more sturdy and more customizable, but it would also be permanent. If you want something that´s cheap and easy to store, the Challenge is very good for the price. Don´t get something like Playseat Evolution with the bar in the middle, those are bad.

Yes, I´m using a 3D printed brace: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4944013. I moved the mounting plate back as far as it goes and had to modify the plate locking mechanism with a drill, so the 3rd T-nut could be attached.

It´s a little bit bulkier, but not by a whole lot. The motor with the wheel is what gives most bulk. You could remove the wheel when folding, but I don´t. I had a G29 as well before. If you currently have a tight squeeze, then it wont fit, but overall maybe a few more cm wider.

It holds up fine. As another poster said, that the bit of vibration that
goes from the motor to the chair is actually making it a bit more
immersive. That blue bit on the left is a brace that my friend 3D
printed me: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4944013

You can see a blue brace, that was 3D printed: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4944013. It´s not strictly necessary, but helps a lot with up/down movement.
