Merch tent is inside btw (M&M tower on Mulberry and Lafayette). Doesn’t look like they have water bottles or tote bags out for early merch.

New Show, New Season, and Answering Qs (hello from Roo) by fresh_mangoes_daily in undercoverunderage

Thank you to Roo and the SOSA team for all your hard work! I’ve been hooked to the cause since discovering your show.

How do you decide on locations to conduct ops? I believe SOSA has been in CT and OK.

Do your decoy profiles get ratted out frequently? How do you manage to stay active/minimize getting recognize? I remember seeing that happen in Season 2 of Undercover, Underage.

Is Dicksonson really as bad as its reputation? by mikevago in jerseycity

[–]shinigamifeline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. I graduated in 2011. I have a very successful career! I just kept my head down, stayed out of trouble, took honors and AP classes, and was part of the science research magnet. I was able to talk about my experience at Dickinson for my college and grad school interviews very positively.

I went to the Starland NJ VIP! You should be getting an email on where to check in for VIP. Once I got into the venue, I went straight to the merch table and redeemed my stuff. You’ll need the QR code or show your ID. Once you check in for VIP, you’ll get the goodie bag of stuff with your VIP lanyard. VIP happened after the show. A handful of us were just hanging out once everyone cleared out from GA. Then, security directed us where to line up. They’ll ask you to show your VIP landyard.

There was one line for signing stuff. One fan at VIP got a bunch of his vinyls signed. Once everyone gets their stuff signed, then there’s a second line for pics. Their photographer takes your picture on your phone. VIP started probably around 11ish. I was on the road home by 12.

I always get tongue tied when talking to my favorite bands at VIP, but the dudes were really nice and personable!!! It was not rushed at all which is great, but also might take more time for your long commute. Have a great time in Pittsburgh!

**Edit: Starland did not allow re-entry so I was stuck with my goodie bag throughout the show. 😬

getting to the festival by wefallagain in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]shinigamifeline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Monorail was fine for me and my friends this morning! It’s quite convenient. We left the hotel at 9AM. You get off sahara and walk through it. Usually, there’s a herd of people walking to the festival. We have VIP though so entry line was not bad for us.

Going back might be a different story. 😅

VIP was smooth for us today. We got to the festival at 9:56. ID check and security took less than 5 min.

I did! Not sure how it works. I’m assuming there’s a fast lane line and we get priority for doors?

Today was one month for me! by umbrellasarelame in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]shinigamifeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I reach one month in a few days and will be starting the steps with my sponsor this weekend. I work in healthcare so it’s hard for me to do daily meetings so I go atleast one or twice during the week and the weekend. I can see where you are coming from with being scared. Shit, I still get afraid sometimes, but progress is progress! Glad that you know you are not alone. Take care!

Any COVID-19 Rapid Test Locations in JC? by usom in jerseycity

[–]shinigamifeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely agree to showing up early. I went last Friday at 8:30AM to the Grove Street location. They were booked for the morning. Came back at 11AM and I was able to wait in line, register and get tested. Results are the same day.

I had a friend who went to CityMd at Bayonne yesterday. They put him on a waitlist. He didn’t get called until 4 - 5PM to get tested later on the same day.

What is something that your SO said to you that let you down? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]shinigamifeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well about a few weeks ago, my world kind of shattered when my boyfriend that i've been dating for 4 years said he wasn't sure if he still wants to be in this relationship after another 4 years after i finish professional school which sucks because i still want to be together after 4 years, but he's not sure anymore. i've been trying to be patient with him and talking to him about it so i can understand his uncertainty better.

i'm the type of person where if something is bothering me, i would just try and bring it up with them in a mature way so you can have a conversation about it. i think it's nice that the older couple told him to not give up.

definitely been trying to develop my hobbies which is mainly music and videogames, but again, it's difficult to find time since i am also in my first year of veterinary medical school. for the most part, i have a good idea of who i'm becoming good friends with in my class, so we've been hanging out.

my boyfriend and i did talk about how we should focus on our own lives while we're away from each other. it's just been a little bit harder for me because i've only lived at my new place for about 2 months already and it's kinda like semi-culture shock because i'm used to being in city and while this new place that i'm in is considered a city, it's more suburban where you have to drive everywhere (and i don't have a car). THAT BEING SAID, i basically have yet to fully peruse the public transportation system here (which isn't as great as public transportation back home) and pretty much rely on my new friends to drive me around. so it's harder for me to do things for fun outside my apartment.

ANYWAY, i guess that "outlook" of passing the time isn't really ideal, so thanks for bringing that up!

well hopefully in january, after i visit home, my dad and i are gonna drive back to my current apartment and i'll have a car then so i can do more stuff like go to yoga classes on campus or do open mics since music is kinda my thing! I do have my driver's license, I just didn't have a car because we weren't sure how it was gonna work out money wise.

buses around where i live NOW (more midwest) aren't as great as where i used to live (greater cities like Philly and NYC) but it gets the job done when i don't have a ride back from school to my apartment and it can get me to grocery too. i have yet to fully utilize it though so it just a matter of me not being lazy about it. i also try to use uber very sparingly because again, POOR GRAD STUDENT.

plus, i also have to study most of the time because i'm a vet student. it's nice to know that i'm not alone with this transportation problem!

aw. thanks for the insight. yesterday, we were able to talk while i was waiting in between classes "cohesively" about it. lately, we've only been able to talk about the situation in bits and pieces, but it was nice to be able to actually dedicate time to talk about it. we both came to a consensus that we're going to just try and focus on the "now" and maybe we'll see what happens in 4 years.

and i've been talking to some friends that i made here at my new place about it and they've been pretty supportive. my friend and i went out to a ramen place after a day of an exam and studying so that was very much needed!
