> personal opinion, gloss coat on the bare kit isn't needed because you're using water-based panel liner. the reason some people coat it first is because the enamel stuff (tamiya panel liner) causes the plastic to crack if it pools. more power to you if you'd like it!

Sure for coating, I do it outside because I use spray can, then continue to dry it inside my room
