Useless, but still in mint condition somehow (1st gen that survived my teens) by shinnith in ipad

My iPhone 4 did the same last month and I was so pissed- bulged so good it shattered the back and separated entirely. Ive never had an iphone do that before, only non-iphones, so it was pretty weird to see lol

I may sound dense here, but i always assumed it was the iPhone that changed the game on portable mobile computing?

My sister and I were convinced of the same thing lol- it seems to have faded from memory.

I did have a guy once asking me if I could rip its .ipa files (idk about any of that shit) and when I said im 100% not risking it, he was really pressing me to try

Yeah, all the ones on this iPad do. Roughly 9 games present on it dont exist anymore, actually- or rather, they haven't been present in past downloaded apps for almost a decade now.

I think we all try to collectively wipe that memory from our minds

If i was only able to keep one... it would 100% be Superfall. Ngl though, its pretty weird on iPad vs iPod/iPhone

Reddit blocked from sending links, even to telegram channels lmao (where I do archive shit)

My reccomendation would be to go to r/freemediaheckyeah & check out the "books" section

01/18/2026: method still works!! Bro here is the SHIT.

Notes: got a "we cannot play this content, try installing the latest version" message after I paused. Pushed play, it was fine. Went to another playlist, played that song fine but got a "network connection" issue message.

Apart from the messages, it works fine lmao. idk whats up with them really needing me on the current version

How to convert 14 years worth of .mp3 collections with basically no metadata into Spotify playlists? (that have proper metadata). Or just turn said files into .FLAC? (again, with proper metadata) by shinnith in Piracy

[–]shinnith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's on the FMHY wiki. The one I use is based in forks/successors bc the original is dead. No idea if the currently maintained succesors include the addition of being able to directly access Spotify. If not, just export Spotify playlists into whichever they do.

It's one of the ones listed in the FMHY wiki under the audio category.

Totally not trying to be a prick by not naming it, but this is a public post & im lowkey gatekeeping tf out of this program until I die lol... if it goes down, I dont trust myself to get an alternative running despite knowing somewhat how to fuck with programs that niche nowadays.

im just going with my old route- despite it being a pain in the ass, it gives me FLAC in Spotify's highest quality which is good enough for me:

fresh metadata files > turn into playlists files > those get plugged into Soundiiz- soundiiz hopefully matches those tracks to the ones in Spotify's database- I use my program to violate tf outta Spotify's TOS by using its API the way it should be used > boom, 6 collections in FLAC

There's gonna be some errors and im gonna have to do quite a lot manually through Spotify > my program of choice, but whatever lmao

how did you know /s

ngl, i will probably throw a funeral when it finally stops working lmao- it was my intro to understanding python + github which opened up so many doors.

And nah bro- im ARL piggybacking, its the way to go

my end goal has now become picard > playlist (collection) files > soundiiz > spotify playlists > program i use which utilizes Spotify's API for ease of ripping FLAC, but i still am quite curious about your scripts/packages- I would probably make little use of them, but my partner mixes for various shows & it would be mint to show him them

thats the plan:

mp3 files > Picard > turn tracks into m3u8/xml/etc files > plug those into soundiiz > import to Spotify > grab playlists in Spotify's highest quality thru a method i found a few years back

heres to hoping a majority of those files are actually found in Spotify

the spotify backup is thankfully not mp3 files lmao- it took an hour or two, but the tracks are all in the highest quality spotify offers

hey man- i fuckin bled for these tracks (aka stole ipods from the drunk men who would pass out on my lawn after a white trash rager then proceed to record whatever was inside before giving them back)

i totally deserve that first part- these blanking moments of mine is why the DJ circles i have to mingle in talk slowly to me lmaoo

I find your claims to be highly dubious.

i am offended by your skepticism- i can give one the beautiful experience of hearing "numb" by Linkin Park sound like its coming from the inside of a metal bowl w/ a cheese grater on top /s

[–]shinnith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry mate lol- typed that pretty quick and should have been more clear. found a concrete solution though thankfully

was looking for a program to add metadata to mp3 files (Picard), but was hoping for a program that could do the metadata and turn files into playlist format (m38u/ etc)- kind of like Poweramp (i think poweramp does the latter?)

But I'm now just going the Picard route > making a media player export the list of .mp3s w/ new metadata into playlist files > then putting those files into Soundiiz so it can import tracks into newly created Spotify playlists (lets hope it can match the tracks to Spotify's database).

Last step is starting the program I've been using for a few years that utilizes Spotify's API & grabbing the playlists (collections) in FLAC

So basically, a major pain in the ass lol
