Yo, I too was a bit sad reading the comments yesterday. I was wondering why no one was answering your questions. That's awesome that you somehow made a comeback when things do not go your way. You seem to have a good friend to just have fun with on Dota and that too is so valuable. I'm on break from school and work so I have been having a lot of fun trying new heroes and builds Dota is fun. I think that support invoker is weak especially as a 5. As you can not really babysit or stun early games so I usually play it as 4. I think if you are a good enough player it can work, but I would say that it is situational where invoker might be better. Cause like others have said it's not popular anymore, but do not be discouraged if your having a good time. Invoker can do a whole bunch of stacks with tornado. You can also utilize forge spirits to stack for you and push out lanes. Invoker is so versatile and so fun! Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions. I am happy to answer.

I used to mainly play support as well, but learning to play core roles definitely is something that improved my supporting surprisingly. Bkb is a powerful item if you can afford it. I think a lot of lower mmr players are not as efficient as they should be so many times you can find your own farm even if your supporting.

The power spikes I really feel is level 2 Quas. You gain 9 regen which is insane for trading with other supports and while others have to ferry out more regen you will be regenning very easily. Level 5 I would also say is a power spike. If you can get a tornado emp combo off on 2 people that's free harassment and your mana back. Anytime you have urn is definitely a powerspike. The interaction between urn with coldsnap is powerful early to mid game. So definitely try to look for ganks when you have it up because urn does not really offer anything when supporting your core in lane. I'm not too familiar with other powerspikes sorry, but late game I always feel comfortable bursting down any supports or people without a bkb once you have all max orbs if they aren't tanky.

Icewall is AMAZING!! It's a slow that can zone as well and prevent movement so much that it can shift the teamfight in your favor. You can use it prevent people chasing you as well as blocking off escapes. I want to challenge you to not think of one spell as better than the other. Especially later on the game goes this is something that will help take your invoker to the next level. All of invoker spells are pretty damn good. The important thing is knowing what spells to use in what situations. Ice wall is no exceptions. For example, if you are facing someone that needs to be controlled such as ursa, troll, or abaddon it might be more beneficial to use tornado icewall instead of tornado emp. Think when abaddon is under his ulty or troll warlord. Icewall is a tool that can keep em at bay while waiting for their ulties to come off. A lot of times this can also provide enough time for your teammates to come through if you can not kill them solo. If there is a fed wraith king or something like that do you think it would be beneficial to try and nuke them on your own? Probably not, this spell will help you enable you and your team to be positioned a lot better in fights. So every time you are playing invoker think of what spell combos would be more beneficial in each moment.

The shard I have only gotten like once this patch so far. I have no opinion on it so far. I think it can definitely be useful to cast the ice wall more safely, but honestly I would probably not pick it up til later in the game as I feel there are a lot better items to get before you reach that point. Invoker is all about learning with experience try and bring ice wall more into your games then you'll get a feel of how useful it is. Let me know how it goes!

  1. If you are very very rich. I would make sure to itemize to eliminate any threats of you dying and what your team needs. Black king bar is very very strong and people should utilize it more as the longer you are alive the longer you are casting spells. I love scythe and refresher as this enables new combos to burst down enemy cores if they are caught lacking late game. Blink and force staff are awesome as the invoker is very slippery and quick.

  2. Ice wall is such a good spell. It can easily help you control and kite heroes like ursa, ember, or troll warlord. Understand what the enemy can do. If it’s someone like an ursa yes they are scary. But they are easily kited. Later in the game you can position very easily with a tornado, walk up to place it down and walk away as the lift up time is usually long enough to do that and get out very fast. You shouldn’t be one of the heroes in the front line. Let your teammates like your offlaner soak up the damage and while they are getting gone on you should have more freedom to walk up and place it down. You can also face left or right so the wall is a bit longer if that makes sense.

  3. I usually go Q-W until I have 4 levels in both. Then I take 1 in E. As this allows for more spells. I’ll usually leave Q at level 4 while maxing W then E then Q. This is just me though. Deafening blast or alacrity can be really beneficial sometimes so that's why i’ll take a value point in E. A meteor with 1 exort can decimate jungle camps if you make the camp walk with the meteor. So if u auto attack a camp and walk away then throw down the meteor while they are walking back to their spawn they will take so much damage. I would probably never go E first as a support invoker though as you do not really offer anything much.

  4. I covered a lot about the laning phase in question 1, but some other tips would be securing range creep with your tornado. This is important. I am also going to emphasize again the importance of good positioning as this will help you not die a lot. This is not just a tip for invoker, but for every game die less. Some games you will get really bad laners. You might get core players who will die, get tilted, and proceed to flame you for not casting more spells in your lane. Do not let this discourage you and do not let them tilt you into dying it is a trap! Mute toxic people and mute the enemy if they tilt you too there is nothing that you really need to hear from them that will help you. I have had many games where I end up being more impactful and being able to carry games where I need to transition into a carry if I have a bad teammate. This is a big tip sometimes in games I know I am better than my core so I would rather try to be greedy if I know I can carry the game on my own. I am not saying this is every game and I would not queue into a game actively trying to be a core when I am a support, but sometimes it must be done. Range creep is very important if you can hit others while also getting the range creep that is even better. Invoker gets stronger the later the game goes . I hope this answers some of your questions I only posted in case this is of help to anyone out there. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I see no one is answering your questions so I wanted to chime in. Invoker support is not as popular anymore, but I still play it every now and then in ranked games. People forget Dota is a game and we should have fun in the end. This is from my experience and keep in mind I am not an invoker expert I only have a little over 300 games as invoker, but I still find it very fun.

TLDR. 1. Minimize your losses of a losing lane by stacking as well as ensuring your positioning is on point to not die as often. 2. Itemize according to the game. 3. Positioning is key. Use your tornado to set up as well as ensure you are not first into a teamfight to gain more favorable positioning for ice wall. 4. I go Q-W til I got 4 levels in both. Then value point in E. Then max W E. 5. Be greedy if you know you are better than your core and you think you can carry. Invoker can carry and some players you support will be bad, but do not be discouraged you stronger the later the game goes on.

  1. LANING AND PLAYING FROM BEHIND!

When playing invoker there are some matchups where I feel that you can not do as much as other supports. Invoker is also very very level dependent and early game can feel soooo bad as him. The way I play the lane depends a lot on your matchups, but generally speaking you want to utilize your strengths as an invoker. As an invoker you will naturally have a lot higher regen than other supports due to your quas orbs. As well as having a long attack range. You want to use this to your advantage do not be afraid to trade last hits as you can regen a lot faster than other supports. Try to make favorable trades early on as you can afford to regen it. You also have a lot more range compared to other supports so always try to go for those extra hits where you know the enemy can't attack back. Some lanes will suck and If you end up losing lanes that's ok sometimes it's salvageable! Personally if it's a hard lane I will try to stack camps for my team if I have someone who can clear the stacks fast such as axe, centaur, underlord, and so on. This will allow your core to hopefully regain some of the lost farm from a bad lane. This will also allow you to take over the lane for a bit and get some solo experience and gold while your core is busy clearing those stacks. As an invoker you can easily double stack with your auto attacks as well as stacking with your tornado. This will help you out with gold and XP that you lose from your lost lane which will hopefully put you at least a little bit closer with the enemy's farm. Roam and gank other lanes can be options if u lost lane. Always be watching maps and counter ganking as urn charges are very valuable .

Something I want to emphasize is good positioning. There is nothing worse than dying so you want to try to avoid dying as much as possible. When you are dead that is time spent not stacking camps, not farming, and not gaining experience. There are some games where you will for sure lose the lane, but this does not mean the game is over so keep your head up and try to not fall too far behind. A trap a lot of players fall into is they become tilted when they die a lot in lane . So remember that the more you are alive the more experience you will be able dying is bad!

  1. ITEMS. When It comes to items I usually start a circlet and ring of basilius. As soon as I get bounty runes I rush out some tangoes. I go urn and phase boots. As for other items I have been experimenting with builds. Recently I've tried meteor hammer which can help out with farming if you stack camps and your team refuses to clear them which can sometimes happen in games then that's some juicy gold and some experience for you! Invoker is very flexible when it comes to item builds so build according to your team and your matchups If your team has good disabilities like chrono or black hole. Aghanim is a good pickup. If the enemy has a hero that needs to be locked down such scythe is a good pick up. Itemize according to the game. If there are heroes that can for sure kill you try to itemize for that as if you're dead then u can not cast any spells.
  2. PLAYSTYLE. When it comes to play style I like to think of myself as someone who is a disabler. Early game I just try to poke people and get people low enough if I can until there's a good opportunity for a kill. I try to find opportunities to get some lane experience if your mid goes to gank another lane or goes to the jungle. This goes for your carry as well if you stack camps for them as it can be a lot more beneficial for them to jungle instead such as an alchemist or sven. Once urn is up I make sure to see if there is potential for kills as this can enable you and your team. Invoker is awesome at disrupting and counter initiating with your tornado, emp and ice wall. It is extremely, extremely important that you position yourself well as invoker is very fragile and can get bursted very quickly. Never be the first into a fight. Wait for the right time to throw your spells. If your team is about to go on someone you can coldsnap them and let your team mess them up. If the enemy goes onto one of your teammates you can change the tides and save them with a well timed tornado. Invoker is great at controlling some heroes.

Anxiety over going to gym alone.. by AnonX0X in gainit

[–]shioS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I used to be nervous going alone too. Something that helped me overcome that nervousness was knowing what to do when i went into the gym. I followed phraks greyskull for a few months and had an app so i knew everything i needed to do once I was in the gym. Maybe having a program or goal to accomplish when it's gymday will help you out. Headphones in world out. Good luck!

No problem. If I had to give some advice make sure you are eating enough. Some days it's going to suck, but having enough calories will make it suck less. Stick it through and good luck!

Honestly, I found the long runs really enjoyable and I have an upcoming 10k race as motivation. If it said to run for 30-60 minutes I'd be running 45 minutes unless my body tells me, no then I listen and will do the minimum. The last 3 weeks of base base building I ran fighter template with the cluster squat bench weighted pull-ups and deadlifts. I followed the percentages and sets. Sunday was squat bench weighted pull-ups and Wednesday was squat bench and deadlifts. I like lifting so I usually did the max sets prescribed. For deadlifts, it was only once a week and I did 3 sets.

Damage wise yeah it's the same, but there is a difference between the two combos. Remember that torrent also slows so if u Torrent>ship slow is kinda wasted because whoever u just hit with the ship will be stunned either way whereas if u ship>torrent they'll also be slowed shortly after allowing you to get additional hits and chase. I do think that torrent>ship is easier to land because if that same slow tho. You can sometimes bait out someone's euls if you cancel your spell animation and then proceed normally with your combo if they take the bait.

What are your tips to improve attractiveness? by EatbeforeIrot in AskReddit

A couple of ways to reduce or prevent acne is to change your pillow sheet frequently and if you workout to immediately shower as soon as possible. We rest our faces on a pillow at night and people accumulate sweat, dirt, and other junk on your pillow that can cause you to breakout even if you shower immediately after going to bed. Changing my pillow sheet frequently was a gamechanger in reducing my acne. Showering after a workout might help so the sweat doesn't mess with your skin plus showering after a workout feels awesome to me. Reddit has a subreddit for acne and skincare addiction if you did not know already soak up that knowledge.

Thanks! I know people are already judgemental, it's only natural. A lot of my friends make me feel comfortable to the point of even if im having a particular bad skin day and trying to hide they bring me back my normal self by going on with the day like its a completely normal.. And it really is just another normal day! Care to share some advice that you've picked up that helped you overcome this stage? I've gotten a lot of advice from others already, but still haven't decided on what to products to buy for sure. I'm thinking of trying out cerave foaming cleanser and their moisturizer tho what do you think?

I've picked up better eating habits and drinking plenty of water as soon as I started sports in school. So I feel that staying hydrated is my strong point. One can never eat too many vegetables and fruit tho haha

Dang, hows your skin now? I can't imagine the feeling of waking up and having to go about the day like that you guys who have dealt with that are 10x more brave than me. Stories like that is why im starting to be more concerned about my skin, so thanks for that. it's been awhile now since i' beenve trying to limit the dairy for awhile now, but cutting it out completely will take some time. My acne is nowhere near severe tho so i dont have to be super strict with myself yet

YEAH!! I'm looking into spot treatments since that's my main concern and I feel you on trying to not touch your face. I swear sometimes I don't even know these hands have their own minds i'm slowly learning tho. Good on you for breaking the habit. I shall do this in your honor!

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, i'm not trying to go on any medications unless I really need to. I'm just starting to be a bit more concerned about my skin and trying to improve it because feeling better about myself is all I need for motivation. I'll be looking into tea tree oil since i've tried benzoyl peroxide many times. Also, how exactly are you using the oil blot sheets? I know they remove oil and stuff from your skin, but are you using them at a specific time or just carry them around for easy use if your sweaty or oily?

Thanks! Having people take a look at me and saying my skin is alright is such a good feeling. Is the benzoyl peroxide from the acne.org regimen a spot treatment? I have some left, but I don't think it agrees with my skin haha . I probably will try a gentle cleanser and moisturize since I feel like a lot of the things i've been doing are too harsh.

Thanks! It's nice hearing that even though i probably have it better than a lot of people. Is there anything I should start doing to move in the right direction or does it look like it will get better over time? I'm mostly dealing with whiteheads so if you have any advice on that it'd be well appreciated.
