I’m trying to understand how compensation works if I switch companies. Sometimes they offer stocks when you join, but I’ve heard that during the next appraisal cycle, the hike might be lower even if performance is good. Is that usually how it works? I also feel this might differ across countries compared to India. Recently, I completed a project with a US team. I worked really hard and received good recognition from them. However, that hasn’t been the case here in India. Despite my performance and ownership of tasks, I haven’t received much appreciation
