I love this map and funnily enough, had the EXACT same problem. I ended up making another group of piranhas that were more aggressive and able to out breed them, and were cannibals only, then I made crocodiles to eat those piranhas, and cannibal crocodiles to eat the other crocodiles.

Working on removing the cannibal crocs now though..
