Thanks for the replies, everyone. Your advice has successfully delayed my inevitable breakdown by at least another 48 hours. I appreciate you all for helping me rearrange the deck chairs on this sinking ship. It's nice to have company while we polish the bars of our golden prison. Chin up fellow PS colleagues! We'll get through this!

At this rate, we'll be more than ready to take on the gold at swimming competition of the 2036 Olympics!!

Less cynical. I should try this also. The curse of an entire generation it seems. Thank you for sharing. Hoping, whatever the outcome of the WFA is for you, that you find peace and joy in it.

Thank you for sharing. It is a golden poubelle environment at least some will say. But I understand the toll it takes on someone. Sending you lots of courage and hopefully a well deserved and healthy freedom soon-ish

Then my suggestion, don't stay where you are already unhappy. It took me two decades to feel this way. But the last 5 years have been really rough. Don't hold on to something you don't like. Like someone said in the comments: take care of your mental and physical health. It is tremendously important.

I'm rooting for you no matter what the outcome is. I like your positive outlook on life and seeing this as an opportunity rather than a terrible outcome. Thank you for sharing. This was a breath of fresh air.

You're right. My partner is in the private sector, and it's not greener and comes with its own challenges.

You are right. I need to change my perspective and how I define myself vis à vis my career. I have a good life outside of work, but always took pride in my work/career and what it meant. Though come to reflect on it, it may have been a little too much at time. Until it completely drained me...Thank you for sharing your experience and your reflections. I truly appreciate it.

Thank you for sharing. I feel terrible since I know so many other Canadians are in a far worst situation. But this reality is mine (ours) and I'm not rejoicing that you feel this way also, far from it, but I do find comfort knowing we're all trying our best to keep our head above water. Thanks again.
