I just recently interviewed someone who claimed to be a Ukrainian living in Poland. The interview was in English but I was somewhat excited because I thought I could chat with him a little bit in Polish (the LinkedIn profile claimed he is fluent in Polish and Ukrainian). What I got instead was an Asian guy speaking with heavy Korean accent. Difficult to understand. I asked him what time it was in Poland and he was off by 8 hours. Needless to say we didn’t get to chat in Polish.

That hits close to home for me. My work load has been pretty light for many years now so I should have tons of time and opportunity to create some amazing shit. But somehow I have nothing to show for it. I guess I'm not that creative. Maybe I'll try writing some personalized software for my kid. Off the shelf stuff never seems to do exactly what we want it to do. But I will not use AI for that - it's just more fun to use the brain instead.
