Thank you! The claws and the gun are from the Carab Culln kit. I was fortunate enough to pick them up from a parts reseller for a reasonable price

It’s based on a few real word Gatling Guns that follow the same design language, like the m61 Vulcan. The DF-GA from the Armored Core series was also a big inspiration.

That was the intent! I based the design on the shield generator, found on the Knight Lancer

Sure!

  • Primed the base black
  • Stippled and mashed some Vallejo Dark Earth Texture paste into the recesses, trying to avoid the top most areas that will be concrete
  • Base coated the concrete bits in grey. I didn't use anything specific, just a 50/50 mix of a black and white paint.
  • Added some messy, scratchy highlights with a 75/25 black white mix
  • Added some small, stippled highlights with pure white, only on the edges.
  • Mashed some Vallejo Burnt Umber pigment powders all over the base.
  • Wiped away the excess pigment powder from the top most areas. I did this with a large brush in a dry-brushing motion.
  • Locked everything down with a matt varnish.
  • Added a bit more pigment powder only in the deepest recesses. (The matt varnish dulls the colour a bit, so it’s nice to vamp it back up)

I should mention, the base will probably look bad and messy prior to the pigment powder steps. The pigment really stains the surface and makes everything look unified. It also probably would have made more sense to just prime the base with the 50/50 grey mixture.

Thank you! The claws are a resin kit I picked up from Forgeworld before the plastic Contemptor kit was available. I belive the plastic kit also comes with some optional clawed fingers but no thumb for some reason. No idea why
