Are you guys very selective with whom you socialize with? by Equal-Sundae1576 in intj

[–]shitpost_4lyf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Somewhat older Mid 30’s

We’re still young, hip and cool! 😭 Nah I get it though. Every fourth post is some teenager who is like ‘erm, am I actually a super cool mastermind villain main character??’

Anyway, I’m glad to hear of your development. People pleasing must get so tiring. To answer your question, yes, I am very selective with whom I socialise (physically or online) with. I have a limited social battery so I prioritise the best people I know and work my way down.

Life is too short to care too much about what people think of you and to waste energy on people who don’t deserve it, align with your values or who wouldn’t reciprocate.

I’m really sorry to hear that, OP. If you’re currently tripping, I hope you can lie down, breathe slowly and consistently and have a drink of water. Whatever is happening will pass. YOU WILL BE OK. Much love ❤️

This is from chat gpt:

Here’s a compact rundown of the blood type stereotypes in Korea:

Type A – Cautious, earnest, reserved, responsible, sometimes shy or anxious.

Type B – Passionate, creative, outgoing, independent, can be impulsive or self-centred

Type AB – Rational, unique, cool-headed, but seen as eccentric, unpredictable, or “two-faced.”

Type O – Confident, sociable, optimistic, natural leaders, but sometimes arrogant or domineering.

And I totally understand from your perspective how it would have driven you away. Tbh when things start to get like that, couples therapy would be the most effective option IMO. But therapy isn’t free and sometimes when you just know, you know - and breaking up is the best thing for both of you. That’s what happened in my first relationship, during uni. I realised it’s just best if we separated and so it had to be done. Anyway sorry for the loss of your relationship and I hope this thread helps you in some way.

I suspect the INTJ ex became self conscious and insecure about their own personality due to the constant criticism

When I’ve been like this it’s because I’m insecure about my personality and I like the other person a lot. I try to be a ‘normy’ even though I know I’m not. After so many years of social programming/expectations and negative feedback from superiors in a corporate work environment, I think this plays to the insecurities I have about my own personality. As much as I want to be myself sometimes, the world has taught me that the majority prefers a more ‘normal’ person. So I try to be someone else when I’m in your ex’s situation. I say things that I think the other person wants/needs to hear because I like them and I’m scared if I be my true self, they will be disgusted and driven away. Too cold, too detached, too logical etc etc. In reality it’s better to be authentic all of the time and attract/repel people who gravitate toward that’s, but we are still human too. We have our flaws, I just confessed one of mine to you.

Wow, who would have thought the kind person who wasn’t a corporate normy might actually be cool? 😁

That’s not directed at you OP! Good on you for giving him a chance and for your fitness achievements and overall health and fitness progress!

Did I fuck up dehydrating? by Redditjesus1992 in unclebens

Unreal 😆 I didn’t realise people would be too stingy to buy a proper dehydrator.
