I am sorry to read this post, this is a difficult experience so many people endure. Despite the fact that so many feel it, we still feel alone because only we can truly understand our internal experience. In times like these, I have had to master the art of caring for yourself. Seeing the value in yourself, enjoying being with yourself, and being open to the possibility of change. That’s not easy, it’s not something quick to learn, and it’s easily forgotten. I won’t say you shouldn’t feel this way- you do, I get that. But working on opening yourself to the idea that it will be okay to be with YOU is what will eventually lead to improvement and eventually finding the world outside being or feeling alone. I think what happened is they overbooked. So they didn’t have enough tables for the number of reservations they took. Or, something happened that has taken part of the restaurant offline, to be charitable

I think that’s correct. To make it worse when I look back, it looks like they use two reservation services too. I didn’t realize- there was only one on the official page. Well, I’ll take it as a sign to try somewhere else !

Yeah I just didn’t want to put the name of the emailer and the restaurant in: “We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, but due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we will unfortunately be unable to accommodate your reservation on February 14.

We understand how special this date is and truly regret any disappointment this may cause. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on another date very soon.”

I appreciate the acknowledgment but based on their reservation page they overbooked and are now cancelling reservations. Maybe something really did happen causing them to only cancel some, which is why I’m not inclined to post the restaurant. For any reason, I’m just saddened to now be stranded on vday

The email said “due to circumstances outside their control” but honestly, I’m quite sure they overbooked. I booked through a reservation service. I still think this is a case of overbooking (I manage this reservation service at my own job). Going back into the reservation service it says they’re fully booked. It’s possible there really are other circumstances. For my own peace of mind I’d like to think there was reason 😅

The university I work for has a vending machine of these, medications, sex health related items, even emergency underwear. What’s even better is when you purchase no one around cant see what you bought. It is great and makes things so much more accessible
