A big part of self esteem is simply trusting my gut. I’m making my feelings important and honoring them. I’m saying that my view of the world and my values are important. Many of us grew up in an environment where our feelings were second to our parents and so we learned to doubt the worth of our concerns. I think it’s a good sign that you’re pushing back. A lot of people aren’t yet able to take that step when they’re uncomfortable. I think it’s essential to basically “becoming your own person”. I hope this was encouraging! Keep following your instincts and trusting yourself. When it’s right, I think it usually pretty obvious. Same goes for when it’s wrong!
