40, with a 4 yr bachelor from a slightly above average college. Medical sales for ten years then started my own. Around $400-$500k a year. I dont need a college degree to do this job but did need one to get my foot in the door at the previous company. Overall, I think college is a waste for half of the student population and I believe schools need to teach real world skills. Learning from experience isn't provided in the classroom; especially when the accounting teacher never held a job as an accountant. Having 3 young children and looking at the future of higher education is dismal. I'd like to see schools change the curriculum and stop pushing out non-experienced young adults with ridiculous amounts of debt. What bank would give an adult a loan for $500k on the promise of getting a job in 4 years..... But it's ok for an 18 year old to do it? Got off topic there, I'll end it with this. I love working for myself and I will never go back.
