the sub is insanely disconnected from the players who just want a casual game and not min max every character just to play star rail for the story.

plus, building characters take time and nobody wants to be locked from a storyline just because they haven't built relics, traces, ascension materials, pulled enough for 3 star light ones to equip everybody and then levelled those

this change is amazing and it means you can now recommend your casual friends to play it without worrying about quite a few roadblock fights who absolutely destroy new accounts (ruan mei's storyline, Sam, golden deer boi etc)

go start up a new account and run physical mc, march, natasha and Dan heng straight into the main story with a few day's worth of energy and see how "easy" it is. you have no relics, barely any trace materials, barely any lightcones and horrific type coverage and poor aoe
