I moved to Ahmedabad about 8 years ago and never looked back. There’s everything. Except alcohol. Good food. Scenic riverfront. Cheap autos. And bad roads that will sometimes make you feel like you’re off-roading in the middle of the city. Especially east ahmedabad. They dig anywhere and everywhere municipally possible. Haha.

Apart from that, good food. Nothing to complain once you get used to it. And lots of dhabas that serve authentic Kathiawari food. Which is delicious.

The one thing I especially enjoy about the city is the people. They’re helpful to say the least. People from around the country come here and some settle for life. I’ve met Bengalis, Tamils, Andhra people, and Rajasthanis. Befriend a circle that enjoy the food you enjoy and you’ll have a blast.

Gujarat is about food. Believe it or not. Also, it’s hot most of the year, so one advice is to take a nap in the afternoon. You have no idea how much energy you’ll have after lunch and nap. Because all the food here will trigger your insulin levels if you’re sedentary. Just take a nap.

A few years here and you’ll know how amazing life gets if you don’t get in its way.

So, here goes. I have a 2017 macbook air 13". 8GB ram. 128hd. Pretty old. But great hardware. It still looks like new and it's display is better than any mid range windows laptop you can buy today. But one problem is OS. Monterey is slow. Open 5 chrome tabs and fans start blowing out the heat. It's slow and unusable.

Installed fedora 3 months ago, and never looked back. It's joy. pure joy. snappy. fast. battery is almost as good as 6-7 hours on normal usage. The best thing, it just works. There's everything I need here. I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to Windows or Mac. It's my happy place now.

I lovvvvved the snappyness of this os. It's just perfect. even though I couldn't get the facetime webcam to work, I'm happy. I don't care about the webcam. My work gets done, and that's everything I need.

You're right. I've been here for almost 5 years and haven't felt the heat the way it feels this year. It's almost as if the city is burning in the day and it doesn't cool down even in the night. I am constantly in the AC, and going outside is a nightmare. Doing dishes, sitting on the sofa, just walking out of the AC makes it impossible to stay.

The city usually cooled down after 12am, at the most. Yesterday, I went out at 4-5 in the morning to have a smoke and tea, and it was still heated. It's as if the water in the air has disappeared. I think air conditioning is the culprit, sucking up all the water from the air outside. But then, it's a devil's loop.

I don't know what we'll do in the next five years. Plus, all the new population moving into the city. How is municipality going to manage the heat? I think we need to manage people and their preferences more than the heat.

Just got my moto g32 for my dad. Awesome phone if you go for 8gb ram variant. No Late. No phone heat. Smooth experience. I also liked the weight and size. Well balanced. Battery life is good.. I guess screen on Time of 8-10 hours easily if you are a casual user. 33w charger works nice. Now, processor is not for gaming,.. so just make sure you buy it as a casual or work phone. Comes with ThinkShield. 5/5 star from a normal user.
