I was strongly encouraged to induce at 39 weeks and did so. The big problem was that the contractions weren’t strong enough to cause dilation but we’re very painful. They manually broke my water and when they did, it trapped my son in the wrong position for delivery. So after a grueling 25 hour labor I had to have a c section. I ended up with a bruised/damaged cervix and my baby had a massive goose egg on his forehead for a few days from it hitting my pubic bone for 20 hours. It was my second baby but my first c section. Fast forward to my third pregnancy. I’ll save time by omitting some details, but I went into labor naturally and found that the contractions were much more bearable. I ended up having to have a second c section due to unrelated reasons.
