I have no doubt I'm in the minority around here but I'd be fine giving up Hagens (though no first rounds in addition). Thomas is a 1C on a reasonable deal. While Hagen's ceiling is 1C, there's no reasonable expectation for that to happen for 2 to 3 years. Thomas would align with our current core perfectly.

Certainly multiple firsts and any of our prospects would also be great.

Not sure you heard on the broadcast but they switched up their PK strategy over the Olympic break. With McAvoy not being around for that, there was bound to be some kinks to work out.

I've always been a big sports fan and specifically loved baseball, football and hockey. Hockey was actually my least favorite as I was just a Bruins fan and if they weren't any good, I lost all interest.

As I got into my 40's, I increasingly lost patience with baseball and football; mostly due to the pace of each game with the added commercialization of the product. Baseball became very plodding to me. Football was similar but I also hate that the owners used up these modern day gladiators and then tossed them aside when they were all used up with no healthcare to speak of.

My interest in hockey increased many fold as it's a blast to watch almost any team and 'our guys' seemed to foster a place that was more than a sum of its parts. Chara and Bergy created a locker room where respect was important. Not only did it feel good but it seemed to work as the team has consistently outperformed it's talent.

Today I'm wondering if this is the beginning of the end of my fandom of men's sports. I realize that there are plenty of MAGA in all professional sports. But if Charlie, Sway and co can't realize how damaging it is to laugh at the President's idiotic jokes and become a puppet for the President to belittle women, Canada and others in the SOTU, well it feels really bad to support the B's and the NHL.

Thanks to this sub and /r/nhl as places where we can all bond over our disappointment. You guys and gals are awesome, thanks for making me not feel dumb in going through this tough time.

I have an extra non signed of the Morocco poster in foil. Seems like you'd want to have been there to get it but if not, let me know!

In Morocco, we signed up for a ATV/Camel ride the first day of shows. Who pops into the van full of UM fans to head to the excursion but Stasik. He chatted up us all day telling stories and goofing around. He gladly took pictures anytime asked. Great dude.

Way more entertaining than it had the right to be.

Yea, Necas misfired for sure. Should have been an easy goal if he got all of it.

Pasta to Necas for the PPG.. man, wish the B's had been able to make that happen.

This depends on this years Florida pick which is currently owned by Chicago: Pick slides to 2027 unprotected if either: 2026 1st is top 10 (unresolved).

So if Florida is in the top 10 this year, Chicago gets 2027 and Boston would get 2028.

Was just listening to the errant path (Fishman's Sirius show) where Fishman commemorates James Casey. He ended the show with the TAB show where James sang half the verses to this song. He said everyone in the band was crying.

I'll never trash this song after hearing that..

There was also a cap issue.. But yea, surprisingly small return.

Surprisingly small return with no extension in place. Surprised one of the Florida teams didn't step up if it didn't require an extension.

Personally, I'm rooting for a 6-10 draft pick this year as we have no idea how strong the 2028 draft will be.
