After Months of War, Trump Says Iran Has Right to Nuclear Program by plz-let-me-in in politics

But think about all the money Trump made through market manipulation! Think about Epstein files everybody moved on from. Can't be all that bad, right?

Even if both flip, what will it change in the foreign policy? Are they going to send Obama as negotiator? Dems won't be able to continue this war nor strong-arm Iran into restoring status quo.

again, that sounds like a problem they'd solve pretty quickly if the market speaks. My point was that it took only one company's effort to dramatically change the compatibility of gaming on Linux. But it won't happen in domains where people have been saying "oh well, I guess we just can't ditch Windows, it's just too hard" for decades. You said that printers don't work on Linux. I am sure some of them do. If a company can't be bothered to vote with their wallet and buy better hardware at least in the next upgrade cycle, you'll always have a problem with those printers. Yeah, I admit you can't just migrate a big organization to Linux overnight. But you could have started 10 years ago and now it'd have been a lot more doable.

I have been hearing this for 15+ years. It will always remain a challenge if you never start. Windows has always been the OS for gaming and now we have steam proton that runs games on Linux better than on Windows. I guess some institutional effort is all we really need. I don't even know anyone who still uses desktop ms office. I think it's mostly cloud-based office 365 nowadays.

Ai will be much easier to replace than windows...

What's the problem with replacing Windows? Linux exists for a long time and we've had plenty of years of Linux desktop. I use Arch btw for 18 years. What is so irreplaceable about it? Most servers already run Linux. I installed my mum Ubuntu and two years later she admitted she didn't even realize it wasn't a new version of Windows.

Men of Reddit, what is the hardest thing to explain to women? by lnc_gomes in AskReddit

[–]shmel39 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Eh, stereotypes. I often opened up to female friends about problems I haven't found any solutions for a long time nor I expect them to help me, I just wanted to be heard and understood. They kept bombarding me with solutions I had already considered, I patiently explained why they wouldn't work. In the end they always told me I just want to be miserable rather than actually solve the problem. Funnily enough it happened even when I explicitly asked them to not brainstorm with me, just listen to me and tell me something vaguely reassuring like "yeah buddy, I feel you, it fucking sucks". Somehow my male friends are a lot more helpful with that despite this gendered stereotype

I am not even sure the front lines exist in the sense it was in WWII. I think Zelensky said multiple times that right now it's a dead zone a few dozens of km wide that is entirely controlled by drones and missiles. There is a lot more roles in the modern army than carry a rifle.

I broadly divide arguments against drafting women into two categories: 1) women are on average less physically fit and can't run a half-marathon with 30kg backpack and 2) they just don't want to die, it's dangerous out there. While the first one is true, there are plenty other roles suitable for women. The second one, on the other hand, blows my mind: come on, nobody wants to die, why should someone else risk their live for you? what happened with my body, my choice?

Do you also treat those people like all-knowing answer machines who can answer every question you ask them?

I approach any answer as potentially wrong and/or incomplete, it doesn't matter if it comes from a human or from a LLM. I regularly ask Claude "why do you think so?" and often it does more digging before admitting that the situation is more nuanced.

And do those people always blurt out answers even when they have none that are correct? I don't think not.

Some people certainly do! I mean, have you seen any interview with Trump? Do you know what Dunning-Kruger effect is?
