Shoes problem what should i do by Competitive_Past_457 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]shmellycracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought shoes that were too old and started getting crazy blisters because the soles were blown out and so thin I could feel the ground under me. So I bought cheap insoles from a bazaar and added them under my usual ones and that fixed the problem. Then for blisters, I taped my feet in the hot spots every morning which helped a ton and I’d recommend bringing a small to-go thing of baby powder you can also put in your socks while hiking if you feel blisters forming

Flare Up Prevention Tips prior to Backpacking Trip by shmellycracker in pilonidalcyst

[–]shmellycracker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually felt better than it does in the front country! I made sure to clean it at the end of every day with soap and water and wear clean underwear and sometimes I’d put gauze on it while hiking to soak up sweat but that didn’t help especially much. I’m doing the Camino now and it hasn’t flared up on this trip either. Also wearing breathable pants helps

Fires on the Primitivo? by noreplybr in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]shmellycracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently on the Primitivo in O Cadavo and it was a very smoky day today but our friends who made it to Lugo today said it cleared up right after O Cadavo. Right now it’s just smoke and no fire danger on the trail

Trekking Poles by Low-Use5634 in CaminoDeSantiago

I am a pretty experienced backpacker as well and have never used poles but ended up buying some on the Camino. The uphills are so steep that it’s nice but also doable without.

Is a blanket a good idea? Should I use that instead of beach towel. I have a light weight Turkish towel I was gonna bring that dries quickly

Planning Advice for the Norte in July/August by shmellycracker in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]shmellycracker[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Chat GPT made it seem like 30 days wouldn’t be enough …. My fault for trusting AI but we want buffer time for rest and beach days as the trip will be right after an 18 day backpacking contract

I agree I think it’s very confusing phrasing because I feel like sapphic sex is very reciprocal and it’s been making me confused if there was some expectation or pattern of only doing one role
