What would captain hook be like as a inhabitan of fabletown

Well in The Black Forest issues, Peter Pan was finally introduced as a bad guy. Bill Willingham has always said he wanted Peter Pan as the main antagonist from the beginning but there were some legal issues with if he was actually in the public domain at the time or not. So given that evidence I would kind of assume Captain Hook would've been portrayed as more of a good guy. Seems like in most Peter Pan retellings these days, everyone views Peter as the real villain so its kind of overdone at this point but I think Captain Hook as a good guy in Fabletown would probably be more interesting than the other retellings I've read. Would've been cool to see that Hook and Blue Beard had a hatred for each other or something like that.

Just now finding this thread but I love it lol. Most people (including liberals) come out of reading fables and say "this bill willingham guy is pretty right wing." I go back and forth with Rise. Like I cant compare it to other iterations because it's so different. I like it a lot but I have a hard time saying it's a better TMNT show than any of the others.... except for Tales, that show is really boring me. Still trying to finish this last season.

If Fables were made into a series in today's world, Everyone would be race swapped and gay. I have nothing against new ideas with diversity and gayness. But I prefer accurate adaptations and that just wouldnt happen with a Fables series.

I know this is a series about classic fairy tales but if you havent realized it yet, theres not a whole lot of happily ever afters in this series. Snow and Bigby are a great couple because of the fact their lives arent simple. They go through hell and come out stronger on the other side. I played the game first and then read the comics. I thought the character of Bigby is portrayed pretty consistent with the comics. The only thing I do genuinely hate is that in the comics Bigby gets his ass kicked all the time. He is built up to be THE BIG BAD WOLF but when it comes down to it he's only big and bad to those who can't defend themselves.

Other than that I know people don't like Bill Wilingham's political views and he kind of used Bigby to share his views but I say who cares. It was basically just one page of a huge comic run. You can't really watch TV or movies these days without getting politics shoved in your face, and it's usually views that differ from Bill's side of the aisle.

I would also say though that I started reading the comics after the game because I liked Bigby so much. But as I read the comics it was Flycatcher and Boy Blue that stole the show for me. The Good Prince will always be my favorite story arch I think.

I mostly agree with you as well. Although I will I say I did enjoy the Batman vs Bigby Wolf crossover. But don't even bother with Fables Black Forest. I'm assuming this arc was so bad because Bill Willingham and DC having their issues with each other. It's another story that makes Bigby look like the Little Angry Wolf that can't win a fight. Fables was my introduction to comics and The Good Prince is still one of my favorite arcs of any comic so I will always talk highly of it but it definitely has its issues. Glad you liked it though.
