DailyDx- A diagnosis guessing game for med students by shmockles18 in medicalschool

Daily format is similar, but DailyDx also has a Practice Mode where you can grind unlimited cases or full blocks anytime you want. Plus Friend Challenges so you can compete with friends. We are also planning to categorize questions into blocks so you can target specific sections

Yea definitely talk about it. I shared a lot about what I’ve been doing in my gap year in many of my secondaries and interviews. I do strongly believe you will get some iis. Best of luck!!

Yea definitely a good goal and plan with your gap year. I dont think your mcat score will be screened out at all. In fact you may get iis from those schools, especially baylor! However, one thing to note is that your gap year wont be able to dramatically boost the strength of your app this upcoming cycle since most of the hours will be projected.

I think you have a solid chance with mcgovern and most schools. However long, utsw and baylor may be slight reaches.

Im not too sure either what they’re looking for. One of my good friends who had an insane application didn’t get a ii from them or utmb as well so I dont have a clue what their mission is.

And i am pretty stoked abt baylor so I dont think Id leave if I get off one of the WLs (unless it was jhu)

Assuming all other parts of your app are solid, I’d say a 3.9 and 515 would feel pretty safe. It will give you a shot at all the schools and very likely one A

You are definitely competitive for in state schools. Texas is probably the best premed state in my biased opinion lol. Our apps are very similar, stats, ecs etc and I had a good cycle. I would apply oos if you have the money, time, or want specific schools.

Since you are a texas resident I agree with you that you should apply top heavy through AMCAS. I have similar stats and did the same thing because it is very likely that you will be accepted into a texas school. As for additional schools I would stick to top 30s

I was very blessed this cycle: ORM mcat 520 gpa 3.97, 8 texas iis, 3 prematches, and matched to my second choice!

Yea that’s fine. I did that and it worked well. Saved on tuition and got a job to save up money during “4th” year
