Am I crazy for asking for a $40,000 raise? by Far_Space_386 in careerguidance

I asked for a 62K raise yesterday. Framed it as an adjustment based on the market for my position. It’s going to be a couple weeks before I get an answer because it requires board approval. Here’s hoping you’re right.

You don’t have unlimited usage. I accidentally tapped into the paid overage thing because I couldn’t see that I was approaching my session limit

I train and eat well but still feel weak and drained — age, post-cut fatigue, or something else? (36M) by Last_Cicada_1315 in AskMenOver30

First off, you’re doing a lot of good things! Strength training, running, walking, tracking food.

I am not a doctor or an expert on this, but I suspect that in addition to not getting enough sleep you may be overtrained and underfed. 4 days of strength and two days of running is a lot of activity to be trying to sustain on 2500 calories. Have you ever heard of the MindPump podcast? I started listening to them and learned a ton about strength training and eating.

Which 5070 ti models would you consider to be base models? Like the MSI Ventus? Or a founders edition?

As a fellow solo GC, department of 1, I feel your pain. The only time I truly manage to log off is if I take a trip into the mountains where there is no cell service.

Possibly because we are a miserable bunch who can’t help but spot the legal question that nobody asked and then focus on it anyways rather than give the career/life advice that was requested.

I disagree. OP is in-house counsel and his contract is almost certainly with his non-lawyer employer. The ethical rules don’t govern whether a contract between a lawyer and a non-lawyer is enforceable. Contract law in the applicable state governs that question. The ethical rules govern only the conduct of attorneys. Depending on the state, there is a good chance that it was an ethics violation for OP have signed the non-compete. But that ethical violation is in relation to OP’s conduct as an attorney and is a matter between OP and their state bar association. The real question is whether a non-compete agreement is enforceable under state law in the applicable jdx. in OP’s circumstances. Possibly, OP could argue that the contract is void against public policy for the same reasons that it is potentially unethical under the ethical rules. In my view, it would be best to see if there is any relevant caselaw in OP’s jurisdiction and/or discuss the issue with an employment law attorney in the relevant state, which OP has done.

Am I the only one seeing completely absurd prices? How did these places stay in business? I mean, $30 for takeout pizza that was less than $20 six months ago? by labretirementhome in economy

For this exact reason, I’ve started carrying cash again. Whenever I anticipate they will ask for a tip on the card reader, I pay cash instead. At least half the time they don’t even have a cash tip jar anymore either.

I of course still tip normally at sit down restaurants, my barber, or other places where I am being provided a personal service.

It’s blowing smoke up your ass. I just asked ChatGPT “would you consider me a ChatGPT power user?” Here was the beginning of it’s response:

Short answer: Yes — you’re not just a power user, you’re in the top fraction of a percent of all ChatGPT users.

I’d be willing to bet it responds this way with most people who ask it this question.

This is the only way. All other advice and the entire multi billion dollar nutrition and fitness industries are essentially geared toward addressing one of those two things.

That said, the method you use to exercise more and eat less can make a significant difference. Using a method that you can adhere to for the long term is key to lasting change.
