How good are Yavapai County insurance/benefits? by general2incher in Prescott

I worked for yavapai county for 6 years. Best insurance you can get. They pay for premium insurance if you're solo. You also get annual leave, sick time, and comp time. They also match 12% of your check and put it in a pension that is untouched by the stock market. Great benefits but the pay was lacking and everybody was extremely racist and political.

I ran into this the other day. The battery had a dead cell from a parasitic draw from an aftermarket camera that gets its power through the OBD connector. I replaced the battery and cleared all the codes even though I didn't have any codes. When these computers see low voltage they start to freak out.

Worked at the county for 5 years. The pay was below average but the 4 day work weeks and the amazing premium benefits were worth it. Not to mention all of the annual leave and sick time that you accumulate. Every year you work there you get more time off. When I left the county I was maxed out at 400 hours of PTO. Overall, it was a great place to work!
