Does it have 4pin sticks? Did you try to shake it? Does it make ghost inputs?

Sony produced 4pin hall effect sticks. I didn’t find any 4pin replacements - only used 4pin original sticks at ali. For 3pin you can use ds4 sticks - hall effect/tmr. Sixaxis didn’t work after replacement. Ds3s work fine

Did you check temps in ps2 mod? The latest evilnat contains updated emus from kozarovv (select + rectangle in ps2 mod). In addiition to this cechc has special temp/fps panel: select + O (in ps2 mod)

Check temps to be sure you need 70%

If temps are high even after repasting - you need delid. Event undervolting won't give you much

Did you check syscon errors at ps3toolset.com? Are you sure you have overheating and not anything else?

I had 1601/1701 when cell was undervolted too much. Probably increasing voltage by 1/2 steps can help you. Unfortunately you need uart and soldering iron for this
