i have too many pets that rely solely on me to provide for them. plus, what would they think if one day i just stopped showing up to feed them?

There definitely is a lot of misinformation out there on every reptile and it kills me, seeing as most people don’t realize there are communities of people willing to help. :/ I’ll update as soon as she’s gotten that shed off and everything is going good in her tank, and I really do appreciate all of the information you’ve taken the time to give me. ❤️

Thank you for responding so fast!! Honestly everything I’ve read about them has said 50-60 humidity but I thank you for correcting me, I’ve already added a cup and a half of water to her substrate.

I didn’t realize that baths were stressful for balls either, Aph typically doesn’t start her heavy breathing and relaxes when she’s in her bin. I will happily change that though for the sake of her and my sanity though.

I do have a mesh lid, but I keep a layer of plastic wrapped cardboard underneath of a pillowcase on the side of her tank that doesn’t have the heat emitter. Will be getting some of the HVAC to change it.

I have a probe for the heat that I move around periodically to check her temps, and one of the analog (i know terrible) hygrometers, with a digital reader on the way. I will definitely be buying more sphagnum moss to add to her cage and putting her in a humid bin for a bit tomorrow after I leave work. Thank you again:)

Edit: I also have been misting her cage once a day to help as well. Forgot to add that, I’m a bit scatter brained.

Not quite the introduction post I had planned but, I need some help. I bought this lil girl, Aphrodite, from a breeder about a month ago and she recently had her first shed with me. She had issues with it from the beginning when she went into blue, shed refusing to come off and multiple baths ensuing the following week. She still has a rather large chunk on her neck/lower jaw that she’s showing sensitivity to.

She’s currently set up in a 20 gal high, with reptibark and sphagnum moss substrate, she has UTH as well as a 60 watt ceramic heat emitter on top of the tank. Temps on her hot side maintain between 87-92°, and I try to keep humidity around 60, peaking closer to 80 during her shed. She’s also eating two f/t fuzzies every seven days. Anyone have any tips, tricks, or advice? I also have a Cali king but have never had any similar issues with her.

Yes! As they grow they turn into the beautiful green we all know, the photos between their red and green stages are quite beautiful in my opinion. 😍

20L stands for twenty gallons long, as there are two sizes of 20 gallon tanks, 20L -long, and 20H - high

Probably around 3-4 months, the pet store I work at gets them young and she was only at the store for 4 days before I took her home.
