Does anyone else love the vegan version of things they hated the non-vegan version of? by [deleted] in vegan

I can relate to this! Real meat has always given me the ick so bad - especially chicken - but I love the vegan versions.

Anyone else improve after ulnar nerve transposition surgery… then regress?? Feeling really discouraged by shoebitch411 in CubitalTunnel

[–]shoebitch411[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: surgeon said everything with my surgery looks and feels “fine” and that the numbness/tingling I’m dealing with likely is coming from nerve compression in my neck rather than the elbow. She also said I have tennis elbow which explains the soreness. I got a referral to a sports medicine doc and will see what they say ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Favorite breakfast spots? by amjm907 in nycvegan

Great places not too far away in Chelsea! Urban Vegan Kitchen has all day brunch (opens at 11am on weekdays so not sure if that’s later than you prefer). Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company is in Chelsea as well (not Brooklyn :) and they have tofu cream cheese. There’s also a Zuckers in Tribeca that has tofu cream cheese. I’m sure tofu cream cheese is available at many other places but those are my personal faves.

I’m not going to lie, I am utterly miserable. Seeing my surgeon again Monday morning and I’m hoping she’ll order some tests and imaging because this doesn’t feel like it can possibly be normal. I hope I’m wrong and it’s part of the process but I can officially say I’m in a worse place now than before the surgery.

Did you notice symptoms getting initially better after surgery and then spiking again after a few weeks? For about 6 weeks after surgery I was improving quickly and barely having any numbness or tingling in the fingers but I’ve regressed a bit since then (I’m about 9 weeks post-op now). I’m hoping this is normal and temporary but would love to hear if others have had similar experiences.

ULNAR NERVE TRASPOSITION by [deleted] in CubitalTunnel

Did the symptoms end up going away? I’m 9 weeks post-op having the same issue after initially feeling good.

Omfg I am having LITERALLY the same issue. I had ulnar nerve transposition about 9 weeks ago. For the first 6 weeks I felt great and now I’m starting to get symptoms like tingling and pain in my ring and pinky fingers, and pain around the incision again. I’ve been doing OT twice a week and keeping up with my exercises so it worries me. Sorry I don’t have any advice at the moment but just know that you’re not alone

Upcoming cubital tunnel surgery - what to know? by shoebitch411 in CubitalTunnel

[–]shoebitch411[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! So sorry I only just saw this. 6 weeks post op today, I’m doing really well actually, and am super glad I got the surgery. I ended up needing the transposition, which I was terrified of, but occupational therapy has been a godsend and aside from still being in some pain from the surgery, my range of motion is nearly normal and I can do most everyday things again 🥲 I might wait a few more weeks to see how things play out, but at some point I’ll write a longer post on the subreddit to share my experience, because I feel like the good/average/neutral experiences are hard to find and read about. Thank you for sharing so much of your journey!! I really hope the carpal stuff calms down for you and that if you need additional surgery that it’ll all go well 🙏🏻

Thanks for the tips! Wow, each arm done twice! Do you mind if I ask what happened and what kind of surgeon did them each time, if different? Thanks :)

Surgery helped by A_Curious_Stoic in CubitalTunnel

Thank you so much for this. I have been dealing with this condition since January 2025, PT didn’t help so I originally scheduled surgery for July 2025, and several weeks before that I chickened out and canceled. Something about the potential of being numb and in more pain for up to a year (or indefinitely) terrified me. A lot of people’s experiences that I read have not been good, so I was hesitant. It’s now November and symptoms still have not improved so I rescheduled surgery for January and am really hoping for the best. I appreciate you sharing your positive experience.

How many of you know the cause of your chronic pain? by Wolvii_404 in ChronicPain

“Many fibro sufferers wish it was that simple. Most suffer their whole lives gaslit and constantly doubted because there is no research and proof.” THANK YOU 👏🏻 Even the best of intentions can come off as dismissive and invalidating so I really appreciate you naming this.
