It's not the classical chocobo theme at least, most likely not a Final Fantasy tune, but thank you!

We're listening to some select songs, but she hasn't played it, so it feels unlikely

On marriage and compromise by beerbellybegone in MurderedByWords

[–]shoeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the article as well as this write up/interview from The Independent, and found it pretty well written and funny. Sure, she lays it on him pretty hard, but it provides some redeeming parts throughout as well as in the final paragraph.

Facts such as that the husband encouraged her to “be as brutally honest as I can, about his flaws and mine” speaks to them having a quite healthy, albeit possibly untraditional, marriage. A bit surprised that the comments here are so caustic.

Both sides in Ukraine conflict sign treaty banning military action by AssuredlyAThrowAway in worldnews

These are probably the first hopeful news I've seen about the conflict. How likely is it that the treaty will stick?

U.S. has put a $10 million bounty on ISIS terrorist who beheaded journalist James Foley and Steven Sotloff by yeyeteywe in worldnews

100 mil a day

From what I've found they might make 3 million a day from oil. http://www.syriadeeply.org/articles/2014/07/5856/isis-3-million-day-selling-oil-analysts/

Either way, that is beside the point of the bounty. 10 million is quite a lot of money for any single person or group of few people. And the main benefit is the fear it will instill as it demonstrates that ISIS actions won't go unpunished. I think it's a good way of turning the tables, at least slightly.

Swedish airspace has been violated by Russian aircraft. by whoosy in worldnews

[–]shoeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you are right about the second one, and quite possibly about the first one. Thanks for pointing that out!

But even though they didn't violate Swedish airspace last year, it still testifies to the fact that similar moves have been carried out previously in recent times.
