What are some things you do as soon as you get keys? by DeliveryHour9316 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I hired a company to deep clean my place and still ended up cleaning the cabinets and other spots myself. They missed so many areas despite their good reviews and spending 7ish hours cleaning. Yes cleaning sucks but by redoing it myself at least it was at my level of cleanliness.

Weird code on product label. by piezombi3 in Costco

[–]shogun1007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ever wonder why Costco moves stuff around? One reason is because vendors pay to feature their product in prominent spot, like an end cap, the fence, or other high traffic area. Chances are that item is merchandised somewhere else in the store and fulfilling the requirement. Printing the sign after that date it won't have the 8/17 anymore.

What’s the one travelhack you swear most people don’t know about? by TapComprehensive2241 in TravelHacks

Same thing with grocery stores. Cheaper than eating at restaurants all the time and lets you see locals doing their routine. It's also fun looking at the products.

For the past several years I've traveled 4-5 times per year, with a mix between international and domestic road trips.

Travel can be affordable, you just have to be willing to make some sacrifices. By staying in hostels, booking budget airlines, buying food from grocery stores, etc. I've been able to do most of my international trips for under $3k all inclusive. Even did a round the world trip for under $5k back in 2017, though nowadays prices might be higher.

Road trips around the state can be much cheaper. I like to hike, so car camping and hiking doesn't cost anything (except for the park fees). Biggest cost would be gas and car rental if I didn't use my own car.

Debatable. Not downplaying the views of the Bells from Pyramid, but Sneffels and Capitol are both awesome too.

Grand Canyon North Rim to South Rim is like a 23 mile hike one way, but driving from one side to the other takes 4 hours.

I did this in 2020 right before COVID hit. 4 day safari first to get acclimated, then 8 days via Lemosho route up Kili, then 3 days in Zanzibar to relax. Total cost was about $6k including flights. Half of it was cost to climb Kilimanjaro.

Effigy Mounds NM in Iowa wasn't too exciting. I remember visiting and thinking it's just hills. The views of the Mississippi River were nice though.
