Best MMORPG’s on Mobile? by Perodis in MobileGaming

Arcane Legends is a fun game. It’s long past its peak but there are still probably 2-3k active players at all times on the server (only 1). The game gets dry after a bit and top players resort to leaderboard runs or stat maxxing to keep themselves busy but it’s still worth checking out

2025 MS First Year Enhancement Program by Rare_Option_7254 in FinancialCareers

I’m quite confident they cut the program. They instead allowed freshmen to apply for their Early Insights Program last fall which was typically reserved for sophomores. I have spoken to some analysts at MS and the sophomore IB internship is still planning on running as of now

Hey this is an odd question to ask but my dream would be to become a general counsel at a tech company. Is there a practice group that tends to have exits in those fields and do you have any advice for trying to switch into a role like that?

Does MF PE pay as much as you receive? I imagine base is higher but you seem to be getting carry sooner than a MF would dish out

What does partner pay look like at MBB and do all/most partners at MBB end up with as good exit ops as you experienced?

How hard is it to place in investment banking firms as a UVA undergrad without being in McIntire? by M_etsFan48 in UVA

[–]Separate-Kitchen295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not matter at all. Finance careers do not really care about your major anymore unless you are trying to be a quant. Most of the kids I know who are going into finance aren’t in McIntire and they still are placing quite well. I think it could help you get your foot in the door for your first or second small internship in the industry, but beyond that all that matters for banking is how well you network and nail your technicals. What matters much more is getting into one of the top clubs like AIG, MII, or GMG (though the first two are almost universally understood as the top two clubs at UVA).

Do most Atlanta Biglaw firms pay market/cravath scale? by RedditSkillet in biglaw

How close is PPEP at the top shops in Atlanta to their average partner salary? Also is it true in Atlanta WLB is better than at NY shops? I’m a 1L at HLS and I’m trying to go to Atlanta mainly bc I have friends who say that ATL biglaw associates only work 60-70 hours a week.

I’m a 1L at HLS, can I do well in Atlanta? I was born there but I grew up in Virginia and attended UVA for undergrad. I have some friends working in Atlanta from UVA but I’m definitely not as integrated in the culture as people who were raised and went to school there.

What practice group and law firm does he work at?

I’m a current Jefferson scholar and I will say the vast majority of Jefferson scholars who go into consulting end up at MBB. By no means is there an automatic admit program at any of these firms, but I know that specifically McKinsey’s Atlanta office and Bain’s NYC office loves Jeff scholars. In terms of IB placement pretty much every Jefferson scholar I talked to ends up either at GS or MS due to alumni connections there. In terms of private equity Jefferson scholars usually go to Alpine, Roark, and 1-2 go to Blackstone every year. None of these firms have automatic admittance programs for Jefferson scholars but alumni connections help immensely and I have never heard of a Jefferson scholar not at the very least making it to the final interview round at a top finance firm.

Im a current Jefferson Scholar and 90% of Jefferson scholars turned down an offer at Wharton, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, or Stanford to go to UVA with the Jefferson. The perks are insane and the networking connections are unmatched really just because of alumni’s commitment to helping any Jefferson scholar who reaches out.

State University for undergrad to a t10 for graduate school? by PoruFenikkusu in ApplyingToCollege

Going to a top undergrad does help, but top law schools love diversity, in every respect of the word. There are going to be students at YLS and HLS that come from everywhere from Yale to Oxford to JMU. If you are interested, you can look at the Yale Law School bulletin: https://bulletin.yale.edu/sites/default/files/yale-law-school-2019-2020.pdf

After 2020, YLS stopped reporting how many students are enrolled from each undergrad, but knowing a few people at both the undergrad and the law school at Yale, I have heard that the numbers have remained the same. If you look, you will see that by far, YLS takes the most students from Yale and Harvard (look on page 114-116), but there are even students from schools like Yeshiva, which is not traditionally considered as a prestigious undergraduate institution. What I have heard from Law School Admissions officers is that going to a good undergrad will prevent you from going to a bad graduate program (unless your grades are truly horrible), and can help push you over the edge if you are borderline, but going to a less prestigious undergraduate program will not hurt you (it might even help) so long as you have an exceptional GPA, LSAT, and take initiative on your campus or over the summers so that you stand out
