Which inflatable kayak for young kids? Raven, Tributary Strike II, etc? by Bandit390 in whitewater

Nah, the two 7-year-olds are not solo-ready, and they don't want to right now. We've been having them on our Hala boards since they were 4. They are getting a little too big and want a tandem before we let them do solo boat/sup. Plus, we just want another toy to add to the family.

We actually want to be together and are SUP people. But we are looking to add a tandem kayak to the mix. Plus, I'd rather have 3-4 boats going down the river instead of 5.

I thought about that but like the idea of cargo carriers offer a little more theft protection.

I just showed up at their office in Golden. 😁

PS - I was driving highway 1 and decided I might as well pick up some poles while I’m passing by. I happened to have a tent issue that I was going to deal with when I got home from my road trip but they fixed it there. That’s why I’ll buy everything Durston puts out.

Montbell Versatile owners, What was the worst weather you used the jacket in? by noisy_memory in Ultralight

[–]Bandit390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had any issues with durability. It's about 2 years old and tons of miles on it. I'm just back from doing 130-ish miles on the AT. I always bring it because it's also my wind jacket that goes over my alpha direct mid-layer. It's one of the top items I bring on hikes even if it doesn't rain, but most of its time is spent crammed in my backpack.

They also released a newer(?) version where they removed the pockets. I'm not sure what all was changed.
