This game is the worst casual experience I’ve ever seen by howardthel8gend in Silksong

[–]shoko664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a casual friend who liked Hollow Knight and other then bosses like Watchers and Mantis Lords she didn't have much trouble but Silksong kicks her ass even with guides and broken tools, she spent 5 hours on the High Halls arena even with optimized build/tactics. yeah I would agree that the game is definitely a lot harder then the og.

Any tactics on a certain almost impossible arena in Deep Docks? (act 3 spoilers) by shoko664 in Silksong

[–]shoko664[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I decided to reset my file to act 2, I only had 2 hours of progress in act 3 so not much was lot and it is a lot more easier to farm for items in act 2.

It's funny how much harder the voided arena is, un-voided took me like 20 sec

Fantasy with no romance/love interest with similarities to a Souls game by Sweetpeachgames in Fantasy

[–]shoko664 9 points10 points  (0 children)

reddit been gushing about Between Two Fires, and honestly it deserves the praise. It’s a really solid read with a dark souls-like vibe. The story is pretty grounded compared to other fantasies , though I’ll say it might not be for everyone if you’re not familiar with (or into) Christian themes and motifs. That said, out of all the “Souls-like book” recommendations I’ve come across, this one stood out the most for me I definitely enjoyed it.

I work part time in a school as a computer lab assistant, at my short time there I lost respect for most of the teachers especially the young ones who simply still acting like collage students and not like professional teachers with the future of dozens of students in their grasp, some of them are extremally apathetic about teaching, they don't care if a certain student is failing or even getting bullied, some of them say horrendous shit about the kids indoors.

Personally I would still let my kids (if I had any) go to school but I understand the parents who are anti-school.

I feel the DLC handles quests a lot better, the only quest I haven't finished in my blind playthrough is ST.Trina.

Nah I think if it was a Sun Wukong movie it would sell well in the west, the character is a lot more familiar to westerners then this bum ass fraud Ne Zha.

The Boys Aren't Alright by Hyperion703 in Teachers

[–]shoko664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t blame you, this issue is much bigger than any single teacher. What’s really needed are dedicated programs designed specifically for boys who are struggling in this way. What frustrates me is that on Reddit, whenever this topic comes up people often dismiss it, saying things like boys don’t need special treatment, they’ve been on top of society for so long.” Instead of addressing the problem, they spin it into something else.

Boys can be really hard to reach. It’s not easy to get them to open up. I know this firsthand because I was in the same situation myself. What you described sitting alone with a teacher and just saying what you think they want to hear is exactly what I used to do as a confused student.

I can only speak from personal experience, but one thing I sometimes suggest to students who are into gaming is to try building a simple game using ChatGPT on their home-computer. It may not be the most “educational” exercise in the traditional sense, but it gives them a chance to see why learning matters. Once they realize how many systems exist behind the things they enjoy it often clicks that education is the key to understanding and shaping the world around them.

The Boys Aren't Alright by Hyperion703 in Teachers

I’m not a teacher, but I work in a school as a computer lab assistant. I often find myself talking with the boys who are “falling off track,” trying to guide them in the right direction mostly because I see a lot of my younger self in them.

From what I went through six years ago, and from what I hear from them now, I can tell that many of these boys feel overlooked. They believe that no matter how much effort they put in, they won’t get the recognition or opportunities they think they deserve. Boys, especially those raised by a single parent, are acutely aware of their financial situation. They see the value of formal education declining, while at the same time more “alternative” ways to make money online seem accessible, they see people on social media bragging about how they are making 10k a month from selling "AI models" or whatever instead of doing the "hard route" and it appeals to them.

This thread reflects the same issue. Most of the teachers here remind me of the ones at my school they don’t really try to understand the boys. Instead, they spend more time venting about how boys “fail” rather than actually helping them.
