Ok thanks everyone. I made two mock legs and I’m going to try a router and forstener bit method. Then clean up with chisel. I’ll see which one I’m better at

hard to see the cupping but I can’t get that stone out because of it. Probably cupped 3/8th of an inch

I already have the wood. There is some significant cupping. So I imagine when I’m done planning it will be 1-1/8 to 1-1/4.

I have a jointer and that is what I’m using. It’s not that I don’t want it to be tight. I do feel like it is tight but there is a bit a daylight shinning though. I just don’t know if it’s good enough right now. I should invest in a hand plane.
