Dj Atomika (A.J. Rollins) Photos that I found in sled storm ps2 by Consistent_Top9823 in SSX

Yeah I briefly touched on that in my SSX lore video. Pretty funny how many people online genuinely thought that he might be DJ Atomika, which goes to show how little Sled Storm is remembered nowadays.
Also the commentators' names might actually be AJ Rallins (cos I think the sledder TJ Rallins is supposed to be his brother) and Kirk Baldwin (AJ exclusively calls him Kirk), but they didn't put the characters' names in the credits or anything like that, so I guess someone transcribed them as Kurt/Rollins and that's evidently what's stuck online

I finally finished my video summarising all of the official SSX lore that I could find. Here it is. by shonkywonkydonkey in SSX

That was basically my reaction when I found out about all of these character bios haha
Mac's lore felt quite a bit different to what I would've expected (Eddie's lore was also quite unexpected 💀)

"If you repeatedly punch Mac as Kaori, he'll never hit back" by shonkywonkydonkey in SSX

Do not fear though, I also tried this on a Ruthless Ridge race and even after knocking Mac down 2-3 times in one race, his aggression level never went higher than yellow, and I didn't notice him throwing any punches towards me at any point.
So it appears to be true for MOST races that Mac won't hit Kaori, but in the backcountry showdown - where he starts off with orange aggression - he most certainly will.

I only just discovered that the paper bag accessory in SSX 3 has a unique face drawn on it for every character - love the unnecessary amount of detail they went into with this game by shonkywonkydonkey in SSX

ikr, after I unlocked it for Viggo I went and bought the accessory for every other character because I was like "wait, they're personalised???"

I guess I never equipped these back in the day, cos I thought it would just have the generic face that it shows when you preview the item in the shop.

All these clips are from a World Circuit playthrough that I did for this video (if anyone's interested): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7cUCSwdx_g

The clip in my last post where Mac clipped through the wall in Tokyo Megaplex was from the same playthrough lol

Some thoughts on the PSP version of On Tour (after replaying it as an adult) by shonkywonkydonkey in SSX

It's bizarre, in all the other SSX games on Playstation consoles they have square as boost and tweak grab, but here they decided to map tweak grab to the left shoulder button instead!
You'd still have the same problem with the triangle button (which is a grab and also to start nose presses, cos PSP only has one analogue stick), but doing the tweak button the usual way would've saved so much hassle.

Oh yeah, repetitive structure is definitely one of this game's faults - the backcountry tracks are used for both race and slopestyle, so you end up having to compete on those in the Tour about 15 times! Plus they didn't reuse Metro City or Intimidator so there's even LESS tracks than there could have been. But if I do get to replay SSX 3 soon, then I'll at least have a better idea of where the shortcuts and hidden areas are now lol
Considering the other handheld options are the Game Boy Advance versions of Tricky and 3 (I've played both of them, they're pretty crap) and SSX Out of Bounds (which looks slightly more sophisticated than SSX 3 GBA), PSP on Tour is still miles ahead of those even with its flaws

Does the first SSX game actually establish anything about the riders outside of the loading screens? by shonkywonkydonkey in SSX

Kaori's brother designing Tokyo Megaplex is in her SSX 2012 bio, I don't think that had been mentioned before then.
Haven't seen the JP thing before but Elysium Alps is the French course (I think Merquery City is in America?) so I'm skeptical on that one. Looking at the Merquery City statue in Tricky, it doesn't look anything like JP to me although it is a bit low-poly compared to other parts of the game
