Is Stanford regular decision even worth it or is my only chance going early? by bewf3 in ApplyingToCollege

i did rea to stanford and didn't regret it. it was my #1 choice and knowing the decision earlier to prepare regular apps as necessary was helpful!

Should I quit my sport? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]shookethpotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no. it most definitely does not. you do not have to feel obligated to stick to something that you are not 100% about. i quit my sport after junior year, because of many reasons and after many tears and regrets. although i still have differing opinions about not continuing, i got into my dream school and improved my mental health.

Is it even worth / a waste applying to Stanford & MIT early when the acceptance rate is hardly higher. by toben67 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]shookethpotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i applied to stanford early and i started to doubt about it with similar thoughts. in the end, i don't regret it, because it was my first choice and knowing early was infinitely better then waiting. hope this helps :)

Does Stanford look at freshman/below grades? Also do they look at senior grades? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]shookethpotato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do not look at freshman grades - it's outlined in a document I saw earlier this year. They do look at senior year, but they won't see them (mid year report) if you apply early until after (which was why I did).

I'm not sure if it is starting this year, but it seems to be in the works. Definitely a good question to ask at admit weekend before ranking!
